    Every time I’ve preordered pokemon with Amazon it’s been cancelled not even going to bother

      You have a higher chance, since this is a new release.

      Also Amazon recently implemented limits to Pokemon TCG, so no more scalpers orders hundreds (unless they open new accounts, etc).

          yeah they are, new sets are +$20-30 on release for a bundle.

          Prismatic evolutions was around +$7-8 per booster on the secondary market

        Sadly, that's how they do it, register hundreds of accounts then load them up into automated bot software using single use credit card numbers, use hacked residential proxies and then do auto checkout. Regular users have no chance, and most companies choose to take the money and don't care. Amazon or whoever could stop it, they have the resources and tech and manpower to stop it but whether they do is another matter.

        No. Just don't do it. When you stop buying overpriced and above retail items for consumer products by resellers the market collapses.

        In the end companies will eventually learn that having bots and resellers get all the stock and jacking prices will kill the brand in the end.

        Save your money and only buy individuals or rare inserts that you want. I have no problem with that free market.

          Indeed. The only effective way to combat scalpers is to not buy their products. Leave them high and dry with stock. Only offer to buy it at a discount because you now do not know if the package has been tampered with.

    I just had a very funny interaction on the topic of scalpers. I went to goodgames. They have heaps of all the sealed pokemon sets, 151, Paldan Fates, Prismatic evolutions, you name it. They charge like 2-5 times RRP on everything which is why no one buys from them and they have heaps of stock.
    Mega Evolutions ETB was $189. I asked if they have anything normal priced., She said no, because we want to prevent scalpers from buying all of our stock. I had to laugh out loud and said haha you are the scalpers.

    Managed to get these from Kmart (delivered today). Thanks to whoever posted that previously. Sucks the pack RRP is like $8.50 now though… Especially after being in japan recently where they're retailing for about $2

      It's still not close in value but just FYI the JPY packs only contain 5 cards with no guaranteed holos, similar to the CN packs. EN packs are ~11 cards each pack and guarantee at least 1 holo.

    Used to play a lot of pokemon tcg but it's just become a shitshow with all the speculation. Game shops just stopped hosting game nights near me as everyone one was collecting but not playing.
