Laptop Advice for a Graphic Designer - Budget ~ $1000

Hi OzBargainers, I'm a professional graphic designer looking for a secondary laptop setup to use when I'm not in my office. I'm hoping to get some advice on the best laptop option for around a $1000 budget.

This laptop would primarily be used on a desktop, connected to an external monitor. I would also take it with me on holidays a few times a year.

  Do you have a preferred operating system? Which programs do you use? Do you draw/need a touchscreen or nope?

    I'd need Windows and mainly use Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Don't need a touchscreen.
