    a phone released today

Exynos chip dump that they couldn't with the S25 range. Bigger discounts later on. My personal target is ~$430 for these

Almost summer… too late to buy Exynos hand warmers

Well now is also the best time to be buying winterware for a reason. Mark downs everywhere

I haven't found the Exynos to run particularly hot but it's pretty annoying when you see all the cool stuff people are doing on r/AndroidEmulation and for you it's just "computer says no :-(".

For those interested, a lot of folks run WINE on their Android mobile to play games - but with Exynos it's a fair bit harder. I got Kingdom: Classic to work but basically nothing else. Most other emulation including DOSBox, PlayStation, Super Nintendo, ScummVM (i.e. Myst series) and GameBoy Advance work fine. It's difficult to describe the Windows emulation problems with Exynos because it's not like it doesn't work at all. It kind of works with bugs, that you work around, to find more bugs and eventually you realise you've spent hours trying to get a game to work rather than playing it and you give up.

  • Wish code can u used in s25 series

How does this phone compare to the Google Pixel 9 Pro particularly the camera quality?

  • comes to $275 when i trade in S23+
    Thoughts? Do it?

    • Nah

    • +2

I say no. S23+ is a decent phone. Perhaps Google S23+ vr S25SE for general opinion and comparison. The S25FE would come with 7 years updates is only selling point.

    Fool's edition. Exynos chipset.

    Hey @sinjinns
I recall you were looking for an S25 FE.

  • +1

S25 512gb for $1,039 on samsung epp (with free clear magnetic case) - and you could ask for a loyalty voucher for 5% extra to make it a $987.

Thoughts on that vs the FE edition? Appreciate the S25 is superior spec wise in every way, but is it worth the extra price?

    • You're also comparing 512 model to 128 and 256 variants.

If you don't churn phones often (3-4+ years to keep) I'd pony up the extra.
If you change every 1-2 years you'll buy something better soon enough anyway it won't matter imo. You can kinda split the extra cost over x years if you wanted.. So 230? Extra roughly. If you keep a phone for 4 years, that's just shy of 60 odd a year extra? Probably worth it.

      • Should have said its for my parents - so main use case is whatsapp, web browsing, email and taking photos.

Just pains me a little to buy a main S series phone this late into its life, for a price today that I think is higher than all the deals posted here at launch

        • Ohhhh.

Just get the cheaper phone then. Pretty sure Samsung support for like 5+ years anyway should be fine.

    • $1k is already S25 Edge. Wait for another S25 Edge deal

  • Hi Phone Gurus

I've been rocking a s20FE with SM8250 Snapdragon 865 /proc/cpuinfo for about 4-5 years. Don't do too much on it and a full charge still lasts about 2-3 days.

s25fe has Exynos 2400 :( but probably better battery life and would be snappier(scuse the reverse pun), mostly.

600 bucks…Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    • Why switch if current phone still works well and does everything you need, is my usual take.

  • Ya kidding. Bought this last week for my son for Xmas. No $200 code back then.

Anyone know when the code expires? Gonne return this one that came yesterday and purchase the 256gb that's now cheaper than the 125gb I just bought..

    • Where did you buy it from?

  • How does one get 1 dollar voucher? CBA has 15 percent off for Samsung via Yello thingie
