My SP8 signature keyboard kicked itself one year after use, was still under warranty, but the replacement also fell to the same fate a year and abit later.

Ive been eying out grey imports for the new Flex wireless keyboard cover but they were still hovering at that $450 mark.

Stumbled across this version of the keyboard.

I think it's quirky, and I think it will be a great conversation starter on inclusive technology.

  How did your surface keyboard break within 1yr? I've had my surface pro for 4yrs and its still going strong.

    First time, I will chalk it down to using my surface in the bathtub (just the tablet without the keyboard) I thought it was dry, but when reconnected it to the keyboard, I noticed it was a lil bit wet. This was on holidays, I did everything and even reformatted my SP8 thinking it might have been software.

    Second round, probably the over use of it in flex/ reverse mode. Its was more of a tablet to me, so I used the folio as a stand a lot of the time, flexed mode (keys facing the floor) to perch it up on what ever I could use on site / set. I don't know if you can see the glue on the hinge release up on some spaces on the fabric, I feel like maybe thats where my cable was frayed.

    I have the SP8 and mine also kicked it, was probably over 2 years I think but same issue as OP using it flex/reverse mode is likely culprit.

  My flex keyboard drains its own battery when not using. If i remove it from attaching to surface tablet then it wont drain. I am unable to fix this issue. It is a good keyboard but sadly have this issue.
