  • Jax seems to have the same offer if that works better for anyone.

    • +1

Ooh good find, looks like that can be stacked with Michelin's own promotion. Jax's price is slightly more expensive for me though, but the good thing is that the gift card is not limited to Costco

      • It kinds seems like the same offer, so not sure if it would stack?

        • Looks like it's different. Jax one valid until 30 Sep, Michelin one ends in November

      • +3

The Jax deal though looks like just the gift card from Michelin and no discount. The Costco deal is $100 off 4 plus a Costco gift card?

        • As above, I think Michelin has a different promotion that could be stacked with Jax's offer. Costco’s price is still cheaper for me though

The Costco is the better deal if you buy today.

$100 off the cart price, plus the 100/150/200 Costco giftcard on fitment.

My total $519.69 (after the $100 gift card)

Upgrade to costco executive membership and you also get 2% rebate so the upgrade fees pay for itself

    • +8

You need to spend over $3250 per year for executive membership to pay for itself.

      • +1

You can downgrade to the regular membership and have the difference credited back, so it's effectively zero risk if you keep an eye on it.

I'm at break even after 4 months.

Michelin Primacy are fantastic tyres and the lifetime free puncture repairs from Costco has saved me a fair bit over the years

    • +1

How easy was it to book a tyre repair at Costco? Can u just walk in?

      • This question breaks costco lol. To do anything with the tyre centre it seems like you need do know the special handshake. It's an elusive club.

      • I just rock up. Usually done in an hour or two.

  • Why Primacy and not the Pilot Sport ?

    • +1

I'm old 😆, prefer quietness and comfort

    • Is that a serious question, like that's pretty self explanatory.

      • I chose Pilot Sport because i needed run-flats.

  • and they dont have my size

    • Yeah - only bigger sizes available 😬

      • 18" is all i need

    • Can Costco order it in for you?

Wait for end of November. My car Pirelli deal

    • +3

Michelin are much better than pirelli

      • All these brands in the very top tier are exactly the same quality. Just different compromises

      • +4

Michelin and Pirelli are the leaders. I wouldn’t go anything else. I wouldn’t say much better. They’re similar.

        • Which Pirelli is similar to the Michelin Pilot Sport ?

  • Weird question. Ive got a gash in my side wall, can i buy 4, have 1 fitted and keep the other 3 until i need them replaced too?

    • +1

It will degrade over time so depends on long you wait until your current tyres are gone. You'll also need new fitment fees for the other 2 tyres

    • Yea, of course.

I stored my tires in a dry, cool garage, away from the elements.

I negotiated fitment for free at purchase, but had to pay for wheel alignment and balance.

  • Was looking at the Primacy 5 to replace the Pirelli P7C2 tyres on my Camry, great timing!

  • +3

I got the Primacy 5 a couple of months ago and I'm not impressed. I was on Primacy 4 and Primacy 3 in the past 100,000kms. I was swearing by the Primacy 4. Primacy 5 are notably harder compound and prone to skidding. They resemble the Ecopias and Turanzas I had on other cars and I absolutely hated. The quiet comfort of Primacy 4 is gone forever.

  • I have an Mitsubishi Outlander and the original tire was skidding / slipping from taking off after stopping in a traffic light or turn when the road was even slightly wet. Switched to Michelin Primacy 18 months ago and never had that problem again

I’ve also got a 2024 Pajero with what are supposed to be premium Japanese Toyo tires with 9,000Km, but I’m experiencing the same skidding/slipping problems whenever there’s even the slightest rain. Too early to replace the tires with 9,000Km

    Anyone else have similar issues?

    • How quickly do you accelerate?
Do you floor it like Formula 1 or gentle economic driving?

      • Not even close. Outlander has decent acceleration. However Pajero is like a cargo truck takes forever !. Since its automatic transmission I can not even try the workaround and use the lower gear to accelerate !

This or wait for Mycar Pirelli 50% off deal

    • for me the Mycar Pirelli 50% is much better as 1 tyer is $560 and this only gives me $300 discount and 50% off will give me $1k discount

  • I got Pilot Sport 5. Scheduled my appointment on 3rd Oct and still be able to get the Costco giìtcard. They activated the giftcard upon purchase and only hand it until you changed the tyrýe at their center

  • Original Sell Price$959.96
    Discount Amount$100.00
    Total payment$859.96

    Jeebus that's expensive!

    • Minus the additional value of the $100 or $150 gift card

Good deal. Thanks OP for sharing!

  • I had thid deal in June. Free puncture repair
    I had 2 in the 1st fortnight.

I’m really surprised that such a good deal was only posted just now — the tires I ordered are already running on my car.
