Edit: Not HEPA but great for dust particles.
They use EPA12 filters - that's one level down from HEPA H13. They filter pm2.5 just like H13 filters, more efficiently but less effectively (.5% points from memory).
However the CADR at 93m³/h is low for a large room. 300m³/h + is ideal.
Foernuftig does 120m³/h - and has a carbon/gas filter.
No standard air purifier removes dust in adequate quantities - dust is too heavy.
It mainly comes down to room size. Both the Fornuftig and Uppatvind are for very small rooms, 8sqm at the most.
This will do up to 20sqm, which makes it the equivalent of something like the Starkvind. The Starkvind also has wifi and works nicely with Home Assistant if you want to see air quality, but it's also $70 more. Filters are a lot cheaper on the Ikea units though.

I did this. I bought my own massive HEV 7 filters, four sides, and have a box fan. Works great and passes the tissue test. Also can be easily cleaned using a hand vacuum.
CR boxes are so much more effective and efficient at scrubbing air if built properly! Where did you source your filters?
Amazon, AliExpress, and Temu. Yes I tested multiple. Couldn't find a reliable local source in Australia when I was looking unfortunately

You don't need a box fan. I didn't use a box fan per se. I used a vortex fan like a Vornado. See these images of my actual filter box:
