955 yes. 265 no.
im eyeing on 965, hoping it goes on a big discount for the coming black friday. 955 is at a good price but the resolution of the watch is a lot better for 965. I want a brighter better looking screen.
I've seen some users prefer the MIP on the 955 as it's easier to read on a sunny day and isn't as draining on the battery. Personal preference I guess.
It's an activity watch, not a smart watch. As long as i can read it, I'm good. I will take extra battery life over a brighter screen
The current gen is 970, 965 before that, 955 before that. So, it is quite old by the modern fitness watch standards. Is it still worth it? Absolutely, should you get it now? Depends.

Just been given a Garmin VivoActive 4S. Took it for a lap swim at the local pool. It's now dead.
Been swimming in my Seiko watch for 20 years.
Can these things not handle a basic pool?
My guess is you pressed a button or two while under water?

Had a look around. Looks like a common problem. The front face is heat glued on (not a compression fit with o ring).
So it appears this adhesive fails. A run in the Aussie sun will do it.
They say a hot shower or spa will definitely kill it!Anyway, just reached out to Garmin. See what they say.

It's a good watch, but it is prehistoric (released in 2022). The Forerunner 965 has also been on sale at a similar price and, now with the release of the Forerunner 970, you would expect the Forerunner 965 to be on sale more often.
Rebel has also had the watch at this price for AGES and the 955 regularly goes for cheaper on other sites.
do these things still have a few weeks of battery life?
