  • Targeted? Did you participate in prev promos?

    • +3

I don't think it is targetted. On the main page, go to Promotions, then welcome reward, and it shows the 2% match bonus.

      • +1

It is targeted. I can get it but not my wife. She got this message "This promotion is only available to selected clients. You may check out our other ongoing promotions here."

        • -1

Yeh I get the same message. Also does not appear in my promotion centre

  • +1

Tempting if it's for existing users. Anyone else had theirs paid out? Ive had bad experiences with the company so I wonder what kind of nonsense they'd pull of they are on the hook for 20k

    • +1

      what bad experiences?

    • Can't say if it's a general thing, but I'm an existing user and they've emailed the offer several times.

  • +1

webull has to be burning ventre capital or something

  • It is accessible for new users if you use a referral code

    • +1

      Yes

  • +1

    @wildfly

Did you read the T&C's before stating this in your deal: "This deal is available to both new and the existing users."

    As they clearly state:

This Campaign is open to all eligible members of the Australian public and applicable to
    persons who:
    • Have not yet opened a Webull Australia Account or have opened a Webull
Australia Account but have not funded.
    • Are aged 18 years or above.
    • Have not previously closed an existing Webull Australia Account.
    • Are an Australian resident.
    • Are not Webull employees, representatives, and agents.
    • Unless otherwise stated, Participants of this Campaign may also concurrently take
part in other campaigns and promotions organised by Webull Australia subject to
    meeting relevant conditions.

Literally on next line of the T&C's it states:

This Campaign is a welcome promotion open to new clients only.

So you might want to amend the deal or atleast provide proof of your statement that it applies to existing users as well, as this is contrary to all previous promos of this type from Webull.

    • Fixed.

      • Thank you.

      • +1

@neil Might need to unfix, see below.

        • Unfixed.

    • +3

Can you link me to these T&C? I can't find them on the web, only via the mobile app. Painful.

They're different on the mobile app…. doesn't seem to suggest you're ineligible if you've funded your account before. T&C dated 30/09/2025.

I just want to know what's right and wrong lol.

      OK found it. https://a1uweb.wbausecurities.com/content/approval/file/e346…

This is OLD. Dated 12/09/2025. The app has newer terms and conditions (I can't link them, or I can't figure out how).

      Here’s some screenshots https://imgur.com/a/eEHkDt3

      • +1

Fair play to you, happy to stand corrected on this.

Now that said it's somewhat problematic that Webull has one set of T&Cs on the web stuff and another thats significantly different in their app.

I would certainly want to clarify things BEFORE committing funds for that period - as it's very poor of them to get wrong.

Thank you for picking this up - I'm actually on their earlier 1% promo myself - and if it is for existing accounts, even funded ones then I'm going to look into dumping that for the 2% one instead.

So thank you for your excellent post and for placing it in such a constructive manner. Cheers.

        • Yeah I pulled the trigger on a portfolio transfer then went scrambling after I saw your post haha.

Noting in the old T&C, it has an old offer period: 6:00 pm on 01 September 2025, to 5:59 pm on 30
September 2025, local Sydney time. I'm guessing they simply haven't updated the links on their website.

I did message support about it, they confirmed I'm eligible (then said to ensure I read the T&C to make sure I qualify…).

          • +1

@vorsprung: Good work messaging support - they're surprisingly good at responses and actually READ what you write, always handy!

Hmmm oddly I just checked on my app and it's not shown at all in the Promotions area. No idea why. I think I might have to follow your lead and contact support. Cheers again.

        • I am also on the previous cash deposit promo and the terms on the webull app shows that new promo is valid for new and existing clients. Webull is heavily advertising the new promo everywhere (at least I see it everywhere).

          • @wildfly: Cheers for clarifying. Obviously you're able to see this new 2% promo in your promotions area. Which I am not.

I did ask the Live Chat support about it and they said I could not see it as once you're on the 1% promo, you can't go on the 2% one. Which makes sense BUT oddly isn't being reflected in your experience.

I did ask them how I could access, stating that I could just withdraw my funds/holdings and open another Webull account in my name to transfer into - but thats kind of a PITA for everyone - they said they would check and get back to me.

Anyway again thanks for the deal and sorry for not having the correct details (or should I say sorry on Webulls behalf they can't have the same T&Cs on their website and app!). :-)

        • Did you transfer out and back into Webull to get the 2%? I'm also on the previous 1% promo and thinking about it. I can't see anything specific in the T&Cs to disallow it, but they have the right to refuse for any reason.

      • +1

Here is the T&C for the new promotion dated 30 September 2025.

    • Yet they've pestered me (existing, previously funded, recently withdrawn all, not closed account) with this offer via email.
Maybe it's for new users, and also targeted at those who've with withdrawn and look like leaving?

  • Just curious - the promo states that the match bonus is paid as a 'cash voucher'.

Which begs the question - what exactly is a 'cash voucher' ? i.e sounds like something that might come with a bunch of restrictions on it - unlike plain cash.

    EDIT: NVM, found this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/795625

    • That discussion is about trading vouchers though, not cash voucher?
In the older promotion for a 1% deposit match, the T&C talks about trading voucher and cash voucher, which makes me think that they may be different.

      • Hmmm you might be right - anyway like I said I'm a tad curious as to what they are as it'd suck to get something in the end thats a complete PITA to use and require additional risk etc.

Does have the feel of 'If it seems too good to be true then it probably is." - but suppose we will see.

    • +1

I am pretty sure it is a cash credit to your account. It’s better than a trading voucher. A trading voucher means you buy something, and they reimburse. I believe cash voucher will just be something you click to redeem and cash balance is added.

  • Not bad

  • +1

I participated in bonus trades promotion a year ago and didn't receive vouchers. Contacted support on chat and got a, "we'll get back to you answer". This offer sounds to good to be true…

    • Got my prior trading vouchers…but only for buy trade it seems. I don't know and have no experience with these cash vouchers.

    • It's easy to miss but there are there - they get released on certain dates in the year (see T&C) and is only valid for about a month to be used for trades. I missed my first few but picked up the rest.

  • +10

    I don't understand how this deal gets 16 votes but $5 cashback gets 500+ votes ( https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/928304 ).

    • +2

Agreed — it’s an incredible deal. Transferring 1m worth of long-term stocks could earn you 20k. Of course, it’s not for most people, but for someone with a sizable long-term portfolio, it’s a great deal for free 20k cash.

    • +1

Complexity factor I'd imagine - along with the fact most people don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars to tie up for 12 months

  • Dang probably too late to start the transfer today since it'll take a few business days. I saw they offered this last month. Thoughts on whether they'd offer it again after this?

    • Transfer just needs to be initiated this month. T&Cs says they'll give a grace period of 10 business days after compaign period ends for transfers to settle. (which should be up until 14th november)

      • I saw that but the Total Assets need to reach at least AUD$2,000 by the end of the Campaign Period and they're calculating Total Assets by 31 October right? It does state 'After the Campaign Period ends on 31/10/2025 at 5:59:00 pm, the Total Asset will be confirmed within 10 business days' but I imagine that's just the time they'll take to notify, rather than taking into account anything that's been transferred after the campaign ends

  • +1

Anyone transferred from Stake can tell me how long it took? Not sure I want to bother if it will take more than 2 days as that's what I technically have for this promo.
    TIA.

    • +3

I submitted a transfer request, Stake requested verification the next day, and the shares were transferred the day after. I think depending on when you submit your request/verification, it could be faster. This was across business days btw.

Webull confirmed the transfer one day after the shares were transferred.

  • Thanks for this. It seems I do not have sufficient time then. Oh well, let's see if they will run another promo in the near future

    • +3

      from the FAQ:

Do transfers and deposits need to be completed within the Campaign Period?

Share transfers and monies deposits must be initiated during the Campaign Period (until 31/10/2025). However, we understand that some transactions may take additional time to settle. Therefore, we allow a grace period of 10 business days after the Campaign Period ends for transfers to settle into your account. As long as the deposit or transfer successfully clears during this grace period, it will still be eligible for the Total Asset calculation.

  • +7

The promo period from the Webull link has been extended until 30/11.

    • +1

looks like the 2% bonus is up to A$100k now (ie .$100k bonus for a $5 million transfer)
wow. must one of the biggest bargains on ozbargain ever.

      • Wtf.

Also they changed the referral bonus to make it slightly worse. Used to be 1% of whatever the person transferred in, now it is in tiers (rounds down).

        • Sorry, i don't follow. where are you seeing that? It looks like it's still 2% of what you xfer in or purchase new?

        • Looks like the only option for referrer is the $50 per referral offer.

      • Wonder if that change applies to those who hit "participate" when it was 20k max

  • As thinking to take on this and from previous etf transfer to Webull seems like I need to record the historical purchases costs for tax purposes when we sell.
Is this what happening so gotta prepare before transferring out from previous broker?
I understand computershares also keep the records if required. But easier to have a quick check on broker app.

  • So I transferred in shares and they didn't show up on computershare. I called computershare which confirmed the shares are under the new HIN but they transferred me to 3 people and then hung up on me, before they could tell me why the HIN wasn't showing up in my computershare account. They suck.

    • +1

Yes. The shares don't always show up in Computershare's portal immediately, even though it's in their backend systems. Computershare's fault, not Webull's

      • Yeah, to clarify, computershare sucks.

I was only looking to see if the shares were there and to perform some due diligence in case webull is a scam. I mean… it's an established company but I still don't know how being CHESS sponsored really works on the backend.

  • Amazing deal

  • Not sure if I want to transfer my us shares from Ibkr and stake to Webull.
Any one has experience transferring from either of those brokers to Webull and the fees involved from Ibkr or stake?

  • What's the best deal for the one being referred?

  • Anyone know if the 2% also applies to their crypto holdings? crypto seems to be using a different account called WeBull Pay, although both are visible in their app.

  • -1

im using selfwealth for my asx stocks how do i transfer it over?

    • -1

So google this, and then webull has a page with instructions on how to do exactly this.

  • +1

Just got a msg in my promo centre of a 'Black Friday 1% referral bonus' (up to $10,000) that runs until the end of November. Is for share transfers, NOT cash. 1st transfer over only!

In short the invitee gets the 2% (same rules as stated in this deal) but the referrer gets the 1% if the invitee keeps their share transfer at Webull for 90+ days.

Pretty nice - find a good referral person and share, seems a potential win-win for many.

    https://www.webull.com.au/ko-yield/1761727088099-ef775c (generic promo link only)

Might be targeted (only certain folks can refer on this promo) - I'm not sure so check your Promo centre, but I got it overnight in mine. :-)

    • +1

Told a mate about Webull but he didn't get around to signing up until after the last referral offer finished, he ended up transferring in $300k the other day. F.

  • +1

Anyone buying more shares/ETFs to make the most of this promo? Which ones? :)
