2) sign up to a 7 day account if you don't have one.
3) select account and you will have the option to get the app for free. Press buy now.
4) Check account again and you'll see "Your license is active and will never expire".

Affinity has an announcement set for 30 October. Maybe they have a new version coming out. I’m glad they decided to give these for free before (possibly) discontinuing this version. I remember the original affinity suite were half price before v2 came out.
I hope it’s a new version. Not a paid subscription model now that Canva owns them.
I doubt it's new version as it's now Canva making decision for this product which you know better than me :)

Affinity store currently doesn't allow you to buy Affinity v2 products. There is an announcement on 30/10/2025. Hopefully it is a new version, rather than going subscription model.
The apps have been removed from the App Store, so the method here won't work. You can still find download links for the standalone applications, but the licence activation is different and wants to authenticate to the Affinity servers. As you can't buy V2 products anymore there's no way to activate it without already having a licence tied to your account.
Can also confirm it works on the iPad
yeah going to play aroudn with these they were good back in the day when you could buy them out it was a good adobe suite replacement but then they went wiht a subscritpion model and everyone hated it.
I’ve had them since they first released. They have in my experience never used a subscription model. There were many user complaints when Canva took over but the original team posted a reassurance that Affinity Suite would always have a buy option.
That’s not to say that Canva are releasing a new product suite to replace the current one, and making that a subscription model. Let’s hope not.
yeah if they do a subscription model you might as well just go to adobe, the beauty of this was that you had a adobe level product and you owned it.
@kungfuman: Looking at there fb site they say the removal of v2from sale is a temporary measure prior to October announcement. We’ll just have to wait and see.
This is amazing deal Thanks OP. One of the best alternatives out there for Adobe. I've been using the Mac version instead of PS for a while and it does all I need.
can confirm the same. out of curiosity bought Adobe photo 1yr subscription (mostly to try out GenAI stuff) and found it much more clunky and buggy. I have the whole V2 Affinity suite and it's very solid, saved me $$$ of not paying for buggy overpriced Adobe crap. and it's Apple silicon optimised.
But our joy will not last that long as by the look of it they are moving to a subscription model too. "BIG NEWS" 30th October banner on their website.
oh well, we'll see when we get there. I won't think too much into it right now
they should at least keep their promise on V2 apps and let us use those indefinitely. they do much more than I need today already
p.s. looks like this deal doesn't even apply to me since universal v2 license gave me all those apps off the bat. registered to find out what's going on next.
I wanted to upgrade to v2 of Affinity Photo Desktop, seems they've taken away all the purchase links. Subscription incoming from Canva it feels.
I don't have an account or ever used these programs but wonder if you already have an account could you download the program from these links on the education section of the website would it work?

They pulled their Mac/Windows store entirely a while ago. You cannot even find Affinity apps in the App Store anymore.
