Lenovo Yoga 7i Laptop Pricematching Issue Officeworks

So I've been researching for a new work/home laptop and following great reviews had decided on the 14" Lenovo yoga slim 7i with 258v processor, 32gb ram /1Tb storage/2.8k non-touch display which is currently on sale on the lenovo website for $1899. I have a $150 giftcard for OW and went in hoping to price match as they appeared to stock the same laptop but after abit of looking the sales rep said they couldnt as the part numbers dont match. Indeed the part number on the lenovo website is 83JXCTO1WWAU5 whilst the one in OW is LE83JX0012.

Specs are identical but sales rep said it could be due to the lenovo website product being an "aura edition" but I pointed out that the display model they had had "aura edition" etched onto the body of the laptop too whilst on their website neither the ultra 5 or ultra 7 models have "aura ed" in the product description. Dude couldn't explain why that was.. Am I out of luck trying to pricematch with OW?

  • They don't deserve your time or business….

This kind of thing is pretty common with places that price match, if they have a different SKU they don't have to ¯_(ツ)_/¯

    • At one point the guy also tried to say that they only pricematch RRP prices and cant PM products that are on "sale" from competitors

    • they don't have to

As they are not the same product….. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Only way around this might be to compare the SKU printed on the item's box or on the display model with the Lenovo website. LE83JX0012 appears to be the arbitary SKU Officeworks made up for themselves.

Yeah. 83JX is the core part. 258V Yoga Slim. The LE part is added by OW and does not follow Lenovo's model number scheme.

JB also stocks the same product under the name of Yoga S7 with model number 83JX 0012 AU.

83JX CTO1 means this machine is sold via Configure to Order (allow you to adjust displays, storage, etc) on Lenovo web.

      • Thank you that makes sense. Looks like ill have to order via lenovo web and use the OW credit another time

Am I out of luck trying to pricematch with OW?

Yeah mate, the part numbers are different. Even if the specs are the same. Move on.

Sorry mate looks like it's a coupon of "OCT25" you have to use. No coupons for price matching.
