The use case for this is basically zero, just get some cans and long life food, put in plastic container if that is required, will never not be cheaper doing it that way. And then can actually eat the stuff and rotate the expiry dates.
And potable water is much more important than having food in the house, you can easily go 5 days without food, you can go weeks or months. Dehydration is in the area of days.
