Kit, CommBank's kids' pocket money app, has a membership fee after a 30-day trial. Fees are typically $3/month or $30/year for one child, or $5/month or $50/year for multiple children, though fees may be lower for eligible CommBank Yello customers. There are no ATM fees from Kit, but ATM operators may charge their own fees, and withdrawals are limited to $150 per 24 hours within Australia.

    • Wow!. Sorry wasn't aware of this! Thanks for the info mate.

        Yes, just commented on this.

The sooner these scum sucking banks are cracked down on, the better.

They're getting a free ride at society's expense.

Negging to bring awareness to warn/protect other OzBargainers.

  • does the kid need to exist yet? i have one coming in a month and we have a bunch of money from the baby shower

haha your kid is destined to be an ozbargainer before (s)he is even born !

Didn't this scumbags promote Dollar Mite accounts to kids and then take away the kids money through fees?

    • +1

Yes. You don't become the most valuable bank in the world without being dodgy. Think about the sobering finding of the Hayne Royal Commission where they were found to be charging dead people for life insurance !

Mining companies and banks are two of the biggest vultures in society yet governments on both sides are too afraid to touch them. Sooner or later, people will wake up as the greed of these companies continues/expands.

        • Mining companies at least produce tangible, useful products that often can be used & reused / recycled. Banks create profits & charge fees on money they don't own & which is underwritten by the taxpayers anyway, they're the real scumbags.

Yep. They took all the money from my Dollarmite account when I turned 12. It’s a good education sinking fund lesson for me as a kid and has made me totally avoid them for my whole adult life. I’ve referred quite a few people away from them over the years too.
