Thanks OP. Now, I need to buy a BMW motorcycle to use it.

  • How reliable are these?

This looks like an Apple Carplay compatible infotainment screen for motorcycles. Seems both inherently unsafe, as you need to take 1 hand off the bar to use it (and take focus off the road) and totally pointless given you can just buy a mobile phone mount & stick your phone on it. Save yourself $590 and buy a mount from eBay.

as you need to take 1 hand off the bar to use it

nope. it uses Wonder wheel already on the handlebar to navigate menus. You can use generic phone, but you need BMW Connected Cradle ~$500 to mount it. It will also support Wonder wheel but only in BMW's own navigation app.

      • $500 for a cradle…what a ripoff!

    • I have a Garmin bike GPS and take my hand off the left bar to use it.
My ride buddies all have phones and take one hand off the left bar to use them.

I don't see it as unsafe if the rider is sensible about WHEN to do so.

You don't use it whilst riding, anyone that needs to adjust something or press it does so when stationary.

Some phones (especially newer flagship phones) are having parts of the camera break due to constant vibrations on the handlebars of motorcycles.

      • So… removing a hand from your steering wheel to adjust your radio or your AC is also “inherently unsafe”?

        Crikey.

  • Does it come with a motorcycle?
