NAB Goodies also has 20% off first year (same underwriter, and possibly similar PDS) if that ends up being worth more than $150 for some

      Comprehensive car insurance only.

      • Hi, I couldn't find anything about this NAB Goodies 20% off deal on Ozbargain or NAB Website. Could you please shed more light? Thanks.

Expensive policy. I'll stick with where I am. Better than the $150 gift card which appears to be built.

      Who are you with please?

      • +4

NRMA for me. But as mentioned it might be different for different people based on the semantics. Allianz/WBC seem to really care if you own a home or are working as part of their calculations.

        • Cheaper or more expensive if working?

    • +4

Not for me. It depends on the individual.

  • All Alliance

  • GIO cheaper by $700
Unless made it monthly and cancel after 1 month?

  • Hi. Westpac
If I buy 3 policy but using 1 email address then only 1 gift card to me or still get 3 gift card.
I am a RACV policy holder more than 15yrs but as I check policy, westpac is so much cheaper than RACV.
so far no one bit RACV when applied multiple policy discount and long time membership period.

  • Does it work with monthly payments?

    • it shows no extra cost on monthly payment

      • Awesome. But more referring to the triggering of gift card as it doesn’t explicitly state monthly or yearly payments

        • +3

It states that you must pay the first 2 months to get the card, if paying monthly.

          • @ad62623: Sorry, must've missed it, thanks! Good deal!

Auswide bank also underwritten by Allianz was way cheaper for me. They also have $150 e gift card https://www.auswidebank.com.au/insurance/general-insurance/

    • yes way cheaper

    • Damn… it was more expensive for me compared to NAB.

      • NAB is about $220 more expensive for me. Crazy how much it fluctuates between white label brands.

  • Thanks to this post I asked for a new quote for my car insurance and ended up saving $60/m. Cheers OP

  • Great Southern Bank has the same $150 promo, same insurer… be interesting to see if they quote the same price as Westpac , and if you could do a second policy , one with each?

Ended up being 30% more expensive than Westpac for me at least.

      • Weird given it’s the same insurer. Just shows you have to shop around

    • same as the other, Auswide and GSB ar 30% more expensive

1920 Dollars for my Skoda! What are they smoking?

  • +2

For home insurance Auswide and Great Southern Bank quote me the same, Westpac is lower. For motor Westpac is the only one including third party property damage in the promo.

  • if the underwriter is the same, is there any difference between different brands when it comes to claiming for stuff?

    • Depends. I work for another underwriter and the different brands have different staff for each department. Some brands are full onshore claims staff, others are a mix of onshore and offshore.

All brands have a different PDS / terms of coverage.

  • About $400 a year more than NRMA for my car.
They won't offer me building cover for some reason (I'm in a triplex), so I didn't bother going through with the home quote.

    Westpac can keep their $150

  • This came in almost double for me on quotes I am currently getting for a new car and that was with a very high excess of $1050 and did not show ‘new car replacement’. I am a customer and it didn’t even ask that question so obviously no loyalty discounts either.

Whopping 7900$ premium for my Mazda which is currently insured with AAMI for 1500$ with same options. Are they in the market for real??😀😀😀😀

  • ~700 above my current NRMA policy for a BYD Seal Performance for both Westpac and Auswide bank.

    Not worth in the slightest.

  • Budget direct way cheaper for home insurance

Can't attest to their claims process however, as haven't had to use that luckily

  • My current comprehensive car insurance is around $900 a year. Westpac quoted $1600. Current Shopback Compare The Market $145 cashback is a better deal.

  • Anyone receive the $150 from previouse promo?
