  • "missed out on the LE Bamford"
I did miss that yesterday. Though having now seen it; https://seikoboutique.com.au/product/SRPL95K?srsltid=AfmBOop…
    I'm not too disappointed.

It's awesome imo. I'm just going back thru nodes to see whether this was actually available yesterday so I can be disappointed for a little while

  • Does anybody has experience of price matching time-piece in the manufacturer's brand store? Does it happen?

    • Not sure that I correctly understand your question but I have found that Starbuy (and other Aus sites) are very quick and easy to match or beat another local online price if I send them a link.

      • Thanks! My question was other way around. Say Britling showroom/store price matching Starbuy ( or any Aus sites ). Also, how does one ensure legitimacy (genuine item) of these expensive watches when buying from Starbuy (and other Aus sites).

I doubt very much that any bricks and mortar boutique or showroom is going to match an online only dealer. On the other hand it's also not going to hurt any negotiations if you let them know what you can achieve elsewhere.
Pretty sure Starbuy are/were authorised stockists for Seiko, maybe other brands too.

Linda's, Watsons etc are all genuine and will price match. Either Watchdirect or Watchdepot are an online only subsidiary of the Shiels chain.

  • Not keen on the see through dial on the both models listed above, maybe I am too old for this modern twist.

Then again I loved the Seiko grand master spring drive movement but didnt like the snow white textured dial either.

Have enjoyed a number of good Seiko watches with my favorite a Seiko Astron gps ltd ed Novak Djokovic in rose gold, crocodile leather strap and mother of Pearl dial.

It's actually a homage to the 7015 time sonar iirc

My 2 favourite watches that I bought from Japan have been the SBDL095 and the Alpinist. I am getting into watch collection and I think seikos offer great value.

    • It's funny though isn't it.

I bought a Seiko SKX009J1 and it's quite a popular watch but I have only ever been disappointed with it.
