A handful of the range is also half price on amazon with an extra 10% S&S - www.amazon.com.au/Sensodyne-Toothpaste-Sensitivity-Whitening…

    • Not sure why Amazon don't price match the whole range like Coles does. Probably they are waiting for Prime Day to have them on special.

  • They are also pretty identical if you check components of different kinds of them. But still better than Colgate or Oral-B.

    • which one would you recommend?

ex-HCP but not dentist. The toothpaste doesn't matter too much unless you've been recommended by your dentist the high fluoride formulation, its the mechanical part of brushing that is the main determinant. But stuff with calcium sodium phosphosilicate (Novamin) and fluoride is theoretically better than fluoride alone, but the literature and data is fuzzy so take the marketing with a grain of salt.

      • My dentist told me a trick that's definitely better than any of these. Before sleep and after brushing and flossing apply a paste that has 5000 fluoride, not sure about naming, but the number is important. Don't drink, don't eat, just sleep with it in your mouth. Next day your teeth will be stronger than ever, I feel it, the sound is different, and it lasts for some days.

This one https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/39917/colgate-toothp… But you will not find it in supermarkets, I saw it in the Chemist only, and not in each of them.

        • What is you are thirsty and want to drink at midnight?

          • @Euthyphro: You will not die, but will waste it. That thing needs to spend time on teeth, the longer the better.

        • Flouride from toothpaste is not supposed to be swallowed.

          • @abacus: I had concerns too, but never had issues with that. I don't apply much of it and do it not more than twice a week.

    • what exactly makes it better than those brands?

  • Just an FYI, this brand of toothpaste gives both my sister and I mouth ulcers so if you start to get them, I recommend stopping use of this for a few days to see if they go away.

Not the toothpaste brand, but sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) is known to cause mouth ulcers and peeling of the oral mucosa. Some Sensodyne formulation contain SLS and others don't, so read the ingredients. Other brands also have different formulations even within the same line.

  • What happened to the Pronamel brand?

I like to use the 'Repair & Protect' ones as it contains Novamin (protects teeth and reduced sensitivity) and Fluoride + no SLS

This the only brand I know of that has it. If it doesnt say 'Repair & Protect' it doesnt have Novamin

    • I used to buy the other Sensodynes thinking it all had their unique ingredient, didn't even realise.

Came to share this ^ info, which I learnt on OzBargain.

Repair & Protect comes in normal, whitening, and extra fresh.

$5.66 at Chemist Warehouse if you ask for a price match.

  • Novamin convert here. This is a good price

    • Did you notice difference? I didn't
