iPhone 17: Costco vs Apple Store

I’m keen on buying an iPhone 17 in the next month. While I’ve historically bought phones once they’re several generations old the improvements and new price for the 17 (base) is better than I expected. The battery on my current iPhone 11 has also degraded to around 60% health and the camera is not great.

I’m currently with Boost on a 230mb or so annual prepaid. Should I just buy the 17 (256gb) outright and if so is it worth paying the extra $50 buying it from Apple’s website ($1400) instead of Costco ($1350)?

    If you’re sure you don’t need to use the 14 day return window with Apple and assuming no giftcard shenanigans just get it from Costco if you’re close.

    Apple you can get gift cards for 10% off making it $1259

      It got abused, so now only 90 day return policy for mobile phones. Slightly better than the apple 14 day policy, but nothing like it used to be.

        A friend of mine would buy a giant TV for Super Bowl, and then return it.

          Yep, that is a 'thing' in the USA…. Buy a big TV before the game, return it after the game and because of that, there have been lots of changes to the returns policy. Its why we can't have nice things anymore.

      Thanks. I’ve searched OZB but it looks like there’s no 10% off Apple gift cards atm - roughly when do you expect that deal will return?

    Wow so you have never experienced a Pro or Pro Max iPhone in your life if you're going from base 11 to base 17. You picked the best year to do that since even the 11 Pro/Pro Max had features that the base 16 didn't have but now the 17 does so enjoy

            @boovohh: Pro Max is 3-4 weeks, base is 1-2 or 3-4 weeks depending on colour
            stock nationally is the same, every retailer and telco is the same.
            stock for Air is good and you may be lucky to find a Pro available

        Looks like there is stock at all the stores for the 17 base. You can click and collect on the apple website. They usually have 1-2 day delivery as well.
