@Sam816: yep you still need to link the EA account to your steam of you buy through steam but it won't need to open the EA app to play
@Sam816: Battlefield 6 is the first EA multiplayer title that's Steam native. The very first time you launch it you connect your Steam and EA accounts through a website popup and then you never have to worry about it.
It doesn't use the EA app and you can actually directly invite friends who also own BF6 on Steam into your party through the Steam friends list.

Not sure, I tried a Wise card and it wouldnt verify either, I ended up using my visa card and that worked. Though it set my banks fraud protection off and I had to confirm it was an actual legit transaction (probs cause Ukrainian currency) and then I repurchased it.

@ThatDealsGuy: Leave it set to Ukraine from memory. I had an issue where one card wouldnt work and it wouldnt process, I had to use another card. One was a Wise digital card and the one that worked was a Visa

@ThatDealsGuy: St George for me, I got a fraud text sraight away blocking the payment probs due to Ukraine currency being used, I replied yes to it was me and the text said in 20 mins the card would be unlocked, tried again and it worked fine.

I did this with Battlefield 3 and it only gave me the Russian language. Every time the game updated I had to get my friends to send me the English language files and I had to keep changing the registry key for the game to use English language.

Good point, thanks for bringing this up. I would never have even thought about this otherwise! I did a quick search around and it seems it happened for the older games. Also saw people having mixups where they bought battlefield games in their own region and its not coming with english. I tried looking for 2042 as that is the most recent one and only saw people wanting to know how to change language without context and there is a way to edit a file and then repair the game and it downloads the english files, so worse case if BF6 bought in Ukraine has that issue, at least we can obtain the files easily.

Steam does but as far as I know, the prices are locked to the region the account is and changing that can flag the system. With EA, when you open the client with a vpn it auto changes prices to the IP location. Plus over the years ive heard of many steam accounts banned for stuff like this but rarely hear about it from EA, in fact many people do this vpn payment thing for some fifa subscription thingy I saw. Me personally, rather risk my EA account getting banned then Steam as I dont even use EA.

@Cludo: I redeemed a beta key on EA and used steam… not sure how or why but Steam and EA allowed themselves to be linked so yeah. Maybe check up on it more
@Duplicity: The beta was public without needing a key later on, that's why you could grab it on Steam. The key was for either 1 or 2 days early access to it.

It does some stuff right but the maps in the beta were all awful. Have to wait for the retail release to see if any good ones and how much potential there is with the battlefield portal level editor.
DICE needs to accept that a remake of BF:BC2 is needed to kickstart this franchise. The beta was good but I’m still wary.
BC2 is my first love, and even I will say that very few fans 'need' a remake to kick-start the franchise again. Just adds the banger maps, TTK and Rush mechanics back into Portal and call it a day.
2042's BC2 content got it halfway right.

Seems to be the cheapest place to get it right now. You can get it cheaper on Reddit as it was bundled with Intel CPUs people are reselling the codes for it but to redeem it you need a recent Intel desktop CPU that hasn't already redeemed other games.

Good find, I got screwed by it though. I selected standard edition of the game then I put my card details and refreshed the cart screen. Pressed purchase and while the purchase was loading I notice the cart changed itself to phantom edition but I was too late and it charged me $92.87 for phantom edition

For the life of me I can not get it to work with revolut.
Try create a new virtual card, for some reason it doesn't work with my old virtual card and i create a new one and it works.

I think there is a server issue or some time-dependent anomaly with the ukraine vpn method. I spent some time yesterday trying to purchase the game with Proton vpn i got for $1USD with both ukraine and indonesia with multiple debit cards including Revolut virtual card and EA would give "We were unable to verify your credit or debit card"
Then I hop on this morning, and on first attempt my ukraine payment went through, exactly same process as yesterday.
For whoever is still trying the Ukraine VPN method with a Wise card - the physical card kept giving me the above 'unable to verify' issue. No issues after using the virtual card details though
