Am interested in getting a wheel but not $300 interested as I just don’t know how much use I’d get out of it. Is there anything anyone knows like $100-150?

The answer is you have got to be joking. $270 is cheap as for a FF wheel and anything not FF is not even worth trying. (That said the skies the limit with wheels personally I would only ever get a DD wheel having had both)
You want cheaper, get one used.
Happy to be corrected but I think the general consensus is that at that price point you're better off looking for a second hand G29 / G920 than buying new.

Source - I've been selling my RARELY used racing wheels over the past 20 years. Every generation I think I'm going to use it more. I don't.
I think it comes down to finding a game you enjoy. I originally bought a wheel for Project Cars 2, but I just didn't enjoy that game. I eventually got Forza Horizon 5 and had an absolute blast.
2nd hand is the way to go. Do not buy those brand new wheels in the $100-150 price range. They don't have force feedback.

I got it at the advice of a mate just before I was gonna buy a new wheel and it's been a great cheap way to try sim racing. Couple it with asseto corsa when it's on a $15 sale and you're laughing.
I haven't felt the need to upgrade the wheel it does that good of a job. If I really had more timing gaming, maybe I'd upgrade.
Plenty of YouTube experts say as long as the wheel was decent quality, a more expensive wheels not going to make drivers any faster or better.
I wouldn't go for a Driving Force GT, the minimum you want is a G29 or G920 or preferably a G923.
Up to the buyer. It's worked out well for me and many others. Works fine on Win11 with Core Isolation turned off. I spent $50 and for that, it's a bargain way to 'race'.
Clearly the newer wheels are probably nicer but of course it's all relative to what people what to spend. I wanted to try 'sim racing' and $50 seemed right. I don't get time to game these days so feel it's a good price to pay for occasional use.
People say the peddles of the direct drive GT is its biggest letdown, however it's done the job good enough for me.

Yeh it's much more realistic and simulation than arcade. Mods make it even better. Watch some YouTube on Assetto Corsa Content Manager and custom shaders patch. People with high end graphics cars get some amazing results from it. And for those like me on a 3060 card, I still looks good enough with a decent frame rate (my 3060 is paying a 49' widescreen)

No. This is pretty much the minimum for anything more than a Timezone arcade experience. They're well built, sturdy and typically maintain their value so if you realise in a year you aren't using it you might be able to get out with a $100 loss.
Check the marketplace, you better 101% sure you won't let it collect dust after couple times of use. Otherwise just waste money and time.

I bought a G920 years ago, and it rarely came out of its box. That was until I got a game I actually enjoyed, Forza Horizon 5, which I've played almost daily since release. And now I play The Crew Motorfest daily as well. My current wheel is always attached to my desk now.
I've tried the more hardcore sims like Assetto Corsa and Automobilista 2, but I always end up playing the simcade games like FH5 and TCM as they're just so much more fun, at least for me.
I recently grabbed one from Hard Rubbish…works fine.
Now to find something decent to play it on…with old laptop (old i5 Mac with built in GeForce video). Bootcamp window 7 and 10.
It ran COD Ghost Recon 2 back in the day. Hopefully it will work
Looks like Asseto Corsa, Rally Sim Fans Richard Burns Rally and R Factor (2 maybe) are the go.
Anything else will be too graphic demanding I think..and I want to keep the investment at $0.

The Simbin Mega Bundle is great if you want proper sims.
You can get these with a bit of effort from marketplace in decent condition for about $150 - as others have said good to trial to see if you'll actually use it. Now I'm looking at getting my father in law to fabricate a metal rig / stand and can pull it up infront of the new TCL TV!
keep in mind these are now quite old, but they would still do the job, considering i'm using a g27 which still works fine.
Logitech has two recent wheel lines:
The entry-level Logitech G923 (a 2020 upgrade to the G29/G920) and the professional-grade Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel (a 2023 release for high-end direct drive performance).
However, their newest product line is the Logitech Racing Series (RS), announced in September 2025, which includes the RS50 Wheelbase offering direct-drive technology and Trueforce feedback, positioned above the G923 but below the Pro Wheel.
I have the G920 (Xbox/PC version), with the optional manual shifter.
Have it mounted to a foldaway steering wheel frame (Ebay, about $150). You place it in front of whatever chair/sofa you have and away you go. Doesn't take up too much space.
Has received solid use over the last 4 years (from both kids and myself).
I know it's not 'direct drive' and purists shun it as not being 'realistic', but it works great, no complaints. The whole set up (wheel, pedals, shift, frame) cost about $600 all up delivered.
