  • Is this suitable for use with a couple of "satellites" via wireless backhaul?

    • I believe it would work that way , yes. Some commentary in this review on it (https://dongknows.com/ubiquiti-ux7-unifi-express-7-review/)

    • Yes, but only if you absolutely cannot run Ethernet cables.

You might be surprised by how good the coverage of one of these is. Unless you have a ridiculously huge place to cover, it might be worth it to get one (from somewhere with a good return policy), install it in a central location, and then use the WiFiman app (no hardware needed, just an iPhone/Android device) to scan your entire house for coverage. If you find any serious dead spots where you actually need Wi-Fi coverage, you could consider adding a meshed AP. But you'll be roughly halving throughput for any clients connected via the second AP, and then there's things like co-channel interference, etc. to worry about.

  • Amazon has it at $381.98 in case anyone has gift cards to use. Buying GC at 2% discount makes it cheaper at Amazon too.

    • $379 at Amazon now
