What do I add on for range/additional point with an ethernet port for other devices?

    • You can add on any of their access points, what you should buy depends on what speed and features you want at that location. For a basic but decent access point something like the Ubiquiti U6+ Dual-Band WiFi 6 PoE Access Point would suit almost everyones needs.

      • Theyre all PoE? I was hoping for something closer to mesh with wifi 7

You can config them to mesh, but need a POE Injector or POE Power Supply still.

The UniFi Express 7 Router would do what you are looking for , separate power and configured in AP mode with wireless back haul.

@poloocelot: So a Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Router 7 with a UniFi Express 7 Router or a Ubiquiti U7-PRO U7 Pro Wi-Fi 7 Access Point? im trying to convince my dad not to buy a fkin eero 7 max

            • +2

@ashumz: Yes , that should work. As @geekcohen said above though , you can also get a standard Unifi AP working in mesh mode , just need a separate POE power supply. So just comes down to preference over what device you want to use as your mesh AP.

  • this or eero 7 pro or maxx?

eero 7 better if you want to just plug-and-play.

Unifi if you link to tinker under the hood.

Having said that unifi is very plug-and-play and eero 7 also let you tinker… but that's where their strengths would be.

    • if you're happy spending a few hours play, UniFi is solid, lots of configuration to be had. If you want to spend 20mins & forget, eero

  • This is painful .. I literally just bought it the other day for 510$
