  • Must be targeted if you received the offer via email, as that link doesn’t mention anything about a $20 gift card.

There was no direct link to the offer on their website so I linked the main website & pasted all details from my email about the steps.

  • at one of these selected stores

    Coles in general, orrrrr

Man Woolies wallet, Coles wallet, more digital wallets now. Pure data gathering. I recall when I learned Delete Me, Aura, Incogni and other data deletion companies were keeping your data off the internet only for them to actually be working with data brokers in a Mexican-style cartel "pay our thugs to not thug you" system. Made sense how with these deletion companies, you'd actually willingly give your details and personal information to subscribe to them. And made even more sense how Youtubers all started advertising for them in a wide range of niches like Plane crash investion with Pilot Mentor, true crime with Dark Asia with Megan, tech youtubers and many others.

Flybuys, rewards etc all loyalty products, how do you think they make money? You are the product here and shopping pattern etc are being sold. They also encourage you to spend on certain items more and try to raise weekly spend.

might as well get some benefit out of it.

Best would be if they let Coles GC in. Woolies wallet was amazing for that, it will automatically pickup gift cards and use even tiny balances.

    • Colespay supports gift cards but only instore at the moment.

    • You… Can, though. What?

        • So the times I have just didn't happen? The 'Online' codes they give you with eGift Cards, they're just fake?

          Alright.

  • Oh interesting, looks just like Everyday Pay which Woolworths trialled a while back. I wonder if Coles has considered the security risks that led Woolworths to shut it down - I believe customers were at fault in the case of Woolworths but it's still not a good look.

    • I think this has been around awhile but just recently rebranded from flypay. I mean doesn't guarantee Coles has considered anything as far as security goes though!

Coles Pay isn't new, it's just rebranded from 'Flypay', which was never all that popular to begin with. I suppose this is a new push?

    • I don’t think Woolworths have shut down everyday pay? Still available in rewards app and on the website?

      • They shut down the in-store payments part, it's only for buying gift cards in-app now.

    Seems only in Melbourne?

    • The Coles Pay website says in-store transactions for Coles Pay are only supported at a number of VIC Coles and Liquorland stores (including some in regional VIC), plus the Coles in Wynyard (NSW).

  • Only available in Melbourne, how strange. Flypay (Coles Pay is rebranded Flypay) was available everywhere. Why the staggered rollout?

    • The Coles Pay website says:

      • Online transactions are supported across Australia for Coles, Liquorland, First Choice Liquor and Vintage Cellars. Flypay disappeared over a year ago (I think), but came back a while ago when Coles Group partnered with Beem.

      • In-store transactions for Coles Pay are currently only supported at a number of VIC Coles and Liquorland stores, plus the Coles in Wynyard (NSW). I suspect the in-store implementation of Coles Pay is currently in a trial phase, much like how Everyday Pay had its own trial phase and was originally restricted to selected NSW stores before the trial was expanded over time to cover more stores and users.
