Works out to be 28c per table, roughly the same as Aldi's own brand.

    Good find for Finish tabs!

I get the Aldi ones that are ~14c per tablet, and they've never let me down. Not sure what the Aldi 28c per tablet ones are like though.

Try their 25c one. I find the end result to be comparable to more expensive Finish ones.

    • I tried the Aldi 28c tablets and they were worse for my dishwasher than the 14c ones.

Finish Ultimate works the best for mine, Aldi 14c is okay.

Might be a case by case basis based on dishwasher washing cycles.

4 years after being a tablet man, I've joined the powdered master race. significantly cheaper, performs better

I’m trying Aldi powder for the first time and it’s been pretty good

I went the other way. Tried all different brands of powder and found the result to be on par or sometimes worse off with powder.

When using per dosage per powder packaging, cost about the same per wash.

Aldi tablet is still the best value.

        • We just got a new dishwasher installed and have religously used the ALDI powder in the past.

We are finding the smell on the plates not pleasant at all, not sure what is different.

I have moved onto Fairy tablets for now (ALDI special buy)

          • @starspawn: ALDI seems to have changed their formula. Now it leaves a white, powder-like residue on dishes. Not recommended.

        • Powder is without a doubt inferior, just much more cost effective.

      • Same, I feel like it’s been better than the tablets and get more washes out of it

    • Curious which is the recommendation other than Shine

      • Finish, doesn't make cutlery go black

  • How does it compare to the good ol reliable woolies one? I'm convinced that people forget to rinse their dishes coz I've had Zero issues with the woolies brand:

    • I use the ultra version of this and I don't even rinse. Perfectly clean every time.

      • Much difference compared to the standard version?

        • Honestly I can't remember, it's been a long time

You’re not supposed to rinse your dishes though. Dishwashers are more water efficient than washing up in the sink, but maybe not if you’re dumping fresh drinking water down the sink to unnecessarily rinse everything beforehand.

Isn't that how your dishwasher gets clogged?

        • In my experience that would only be from things like eggshells or bones. I’d certainly scrape food scraps into the bin or compost first. I open the dishwasher’s filter trap way less often than I should, but only ever find the odd bit of plastic, apple sticker, eggshell etc.

To be fair, I’d rinse a plate of something that’ll stink up the dishwasher before it goes on, such as a dish with heavy fish sauce, but that’s only because we sometimes wash it every 2-3 days.

          • @ZJack: I use a cheap blue bottle of powder from Aldi, and the machine is a Miele that came with the place but I assume isn’t a high end model given the other appliances.

          • @ZJack: Ah that's fair, I'm just used to seeing a mate of mine leaving a dry unrinsed lasagna try in the dishwasher then wondering why the dishwasher gets clogged / stinks / doesn't wash the tray properly etc 🤣

@donman92: Haha yeah I can imagine! Honestly we’ve done similar, a big glass baking dish with something like lasagna we’d scrape as much off as possible (those are the tastiest bits!) and then put it through the d/w. It’d usually come out clean but if not then it’d be minimal leftover to soak and scrub in the sink. They’re not perfect yet haha

  • Anyone know if these are indvidually wrapped? Looking for these these where you don't need to unwrap to use them

    • These are don't need to be unwrapped as the packaging dissolves with the powder / liquid

      • Great. Thanks
