Would you know how these perform with digital pianos?
Not as well as the HD 600, and they're not as good as the HD 650/6XX… better and better timbre as you go up from one model to the next.
Save for a $300 650 sale in November, or $260ish for the 6XX if that doesn't eventuate.
Mmm… okay, wasn't planning to spend more than $200 to be honest :D My first experience with an open back on a Digital Piano was with the Yamaha HPH-200P. That was also on-ear instead of over-ear and wow I felt like I was playing without headphones one it sounded amazing. What I'm not sure is whether that experience was due to open backs or on ear or both!
@YeboMate: Typically both. If you're not hounding after a particularly detailed sound, the Koss KPH40 might suit you perfectly if you're looking for spaciousness and timbre, and would be worth a buy at $40ish.
It's got some minor mid treble issues, but this is a great price.
Don't buy the 599 or the DT990, buy this.
