This is probably one of the, if not the highest endurance rated 128GB card (by the manufacturer).
This is rated at 70,080 hours of recording compared to 60k hours of SanDisk Max Endurance and 10k hours of SanDisk High Endurance.

In other words, this has a rated endurance of 782 TBW compared to 600TBW of Samsung 990 Pro 1TB SSD.. Even the highest TBW/GB in a reasonably priced consumer SSD I've seen is 1200TBW in a 1TB SSD.
This has 6.11TBW/GB compared to less than 1TBW/GB of most SSDs.

I've been using a couple of 256GB models I got last year without any issues so far.

Some AI generated calculations and comparisons:

Calculation Breakdown

The endurance rating translates to 11.4258 GB written per hour at the rated bitrate of 26 Mbps. With 70,080 hours of continuous recording capability, the total data written equals 800,718.75 GB or 781.95 TB. This calculation uses the conversion where 26 Mbps equals 3.25 MB/s, resulting in 11,700 MB (11.4258 GB) written every hour.

Comparison Context

This 782 TB rating significantly exceeds the SanDisk Max Endurance 128GB's 702 TB (60,000 hours) and dwarfs the SanDisk High Endurance 128GB's 117 TB (10,000 hours). The Pro Endurance's rating scales proportionally across capacities, with the 256GB model achieving 140,160 hours (approximately 1,602 TB), while the 64GB model provides 35,040 hours (approximately 400 TB.
Samsung backs this endurance with a 5-year limited warranty for the 128GB model.

Huh, somehow I was under the impression that Max Endurance is superior to PRO. Thanks for correcting me OP!

    • VIOFO seems to suggest Max (recommended) over Pro (for some reason NOT recommended): https://support.viofo.com/support/solutions/articles/1900013…

      • Yeah it doesn’t make sense with info OP has included nor that the PRO has all the specs recommended in the article especially U3 for recording in 4K resolution. Anyone have a reason why the PRO is not as good as MAX for dashcam?

I'm using a Pro in a red tiger dashcam and it frequently gets corrupted and requires formatting every few weeks. I'm considering downgrading to something else to see if it fixes.

        For Samsung
Pro is the highest endurance if you will compare.

    best card for dashcam

Would this be ok for, say, an Insta360 x5?

  • Are these what I need for Tapo indoor cameras ?

  • On the Samsung page at Amazon and at the GG the model number for Samsung 128GB PRO Endurance is ‎
MB-MJ128KA/APC but the link above shows model number MB-MJ128KA/AM.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is with the last letters being APC and AM?
I think the APC may be a later version as RRP shows as over $70 but the version at this link shows rrp $31.76.

Wanting to know if this is worth buying for a dashcam or if I should spend more for the APC version.

Just the regional code. Performance is the same.

      Copied:

The suffix letters in Samsung memory card model numbers indicate regional distribution codes [1][2].

The difference between MB-MJ128KA/APC and MB-MJ128KA/AM is:

      • APC = Asia Pacific region (including Australia) [3][1]
      • AM = Americas region (United States, Canada, Latin America) [2]

Both cards are identical in specifications and performance—they feature the same read speeds (up to 100 MB/s), write speeds (up to 40 MB/s), endurance rating (up to 70,080 hours of Full HD recording), and 5-year warranty [3]. The only difference is the intended market for distribution [1][2].

Thank you so much for that amazing info @Schrodinger. I now feel more confident buying this and will see how it goes. I've never had a dashcam or any device needing one so the options are a bit overwhelming. I appreciate your help.🤗

No worries! I did a bunch of research before getting 3 of 256GBs (good price back then) and another couple of 128GB now.

Samsung flash storage stuff has been pretty reliable for me historically anyway.

      • Great to hear and thanks again.
