I've been wanting to get a deal on this for about a year now after seeing a limited qty warehouse deal last year and missing out by a few mins…
Just bought one.

Note that there's an extra $5 coupon that got applied with this that brought this down to $29.95 for me. There's also close to 10% cashback today from Topcashback (and ShopBack).

If you want to convert your drill into a somewhat usable drill press, this can help.

Copied:
Drill straight holes all the time! With the DrillMate you can drill straight or angled holes, drill on the edge of a board or even round stock. The drive shank attaches to your 3/8" Or 1/2" power drill while the keyed output chuck works with most 3/8" drill accessories. The all-metal construction DrillMate provides the precision of a drill press with the ease of a hand drill. Smooth operation and controlled drilling via spring and bearings prevent cutting tool from hitting work piece. Adjustable depth-stop makes repetitive drilling to any depth with near drill press precision. The metal base has a scale with easy to read angles, v-grooves for centering of round materials, and holes for permanent mounting for special fixture applications. Also includes auxiliary handle for controlled movement and rubber feet that give the base a nonslip option.

  • Are these any good? Ive got a press already but cbf getting it all setup everytime

I've had one for years, works well enough. Good for pieces a drill press would otherwise not suit, i.e. series of holes in large panel, (I used it for threaded inserts holes for my standing desk top) or when you need a straight holesaw cut for a door handle in a new door etc.

I bought one just for doing threaded inserts into timber! Worked well paired with brad point drill bits.
        And this price is good!

  • Didnt know i needed it but id looked at dremel type one before so for $35 im sure ill use it

  • So this can be useful even if you already own a drill press?

  • why are there reviews for a orange juice squeezer on this drill guide?

    • +1

There reviews for the juicer look more positive than the reviews for this drill thing I can find elsewhere.

Alternatively if the goal is just straight holes and you want something less cumbersome than this, the drillblock exists:

Damn! Paid $46.99 a few months ago. Used it restoring a wheel barrow to drill for the bolts that run through the wedges and handles (replacements), easier to clamp it all together in the vice on the angle needed and drill through with the hand press. But looking at the block AngryAlfred suggested, I reckon I could have got away with that, it might have shortened the drill depth, but it didn't need to be precision so starting it and then removing the block to drill through would have been fine. Oh well you can never have too many tools!

    Thanks OP

My grandkids love playing Minecraft on the Nintendo, would this be a good toy for them?

    • Start with a crafting table

  • Good if you have a spare drill so you're not constantly removing it. Also its top heavy and you're bound to knock it over.

  • Nice got one. Anyone know how to use bits >10mm with it, get an extra chuck adapter perhaps? For like a 12mm shank.

    • +1

      Buy reduced shank drill bits.

  • OOS

  • Of course its on sale… bought this 3 weeks ago for $70…

    • I feel you. Always happens to me. This one I waited for about a year because I didn't have an immediate need.
