This is ok, the battery doesn't last long at all, annoyingly short. Paid a little less from aliexpress

    • Can you recommend an alternative? After a similar style headlamp that’s usb c rechargeable

H35R is usually well recommended for a few dollars more. Mine hasn't arrived yet, though.

        • yeah I have that one and posted it once. it's been great.

my only worry before buying was, will it be too large and heavy. but that was a non issue after I started using it. it's well designed, very secure and you don't feel the extra weight at all.

      • i dont have one sorry, its very bright, if you dont need to use it to much each night its still a buy.

The sofirn stuff is decent imo. If you want longer battery life you'll need a larger heavier light. I have their HS41 (w/ 21700 battery) and happy with it. It's much heavier than something like this HS10 (a/ 16340 battery) though weighing in at ~320g with the battery.
Prob need to decide use case and if you need red led etc. Something with a 18650 battery will be in the middle of the above two weight wise.

I feel like the H35R is a good and healthy compromise / middle ground over what is listed by OP.

        • battery size isn't really related to battery life. Lights with larger batteries usually have higher output leds. EG, I use a single AA headlamp which lasts as long as my 21700 headlamp. I don't use the max output on anything; the difference is the amount of light that each puts out.

the battery doesn't last long at all, annoyingly short.

this is what I have commented as well, battery is too small. I have a flashlight with the same battery inside as HS10. lasts about 50 mins on high, 1:45 on low. time is more usable on low but I find myself needing to charge it too often. I think it's a even bigger problem on a headlamp, because you are likely to use it for longer periods.
mine is just a "house torch" and it gets annoying.

I also read a couple posts on reddit for this about battery draining while it's off. with comments basically saying "mine does it too I just accepted it's normal for this model".

but a lot of happy customers seem to be commenting in other posts referring to it as the best headlamp ever .(bots?) some specifically recommending it and I remember one claiming to be a paramedic who recommends it? (typical bot comment, starts with I'm a surgeon/paramedic/engineer)

and before anyone thinks this is just a whiney comment with no alternative. I recommend the Sofirn H35R it has been amazing for $2~$3 more. 18650 battery about twice the size, but 3x to 4x the capacity. very happy with the light quality (neutral 5000k, easy on the eyes but gets more than bright enough), brightness, and battery life. doesn't lose charge while sitting unused.

also you will probably hear opinions that "H35R is not actually a Sofirn product, but a rebranded Boruit model sold on Aliexpress." I included it in my H35R post. Sofirn does this with some of their models apparently. they choose a good product from another brand and rebadge it.
but that doesn't mean anything to me. I didn't purchase the H35R because of Sofirn, I purchased it because the design looked good and I have nothing to complain about. been using it for months now.
