Have this exact kettle. All the numbers have worn off the base in less than 12 months

    • Is that due to changing temp settings often ?

Nope, have one too they literally just wipe off.

      • The numbers don't appear to be very waterproof, a wipe down with a wet cloth quickly removes them.
We had one it went faulty fairly quickly. Much happier with our $40 Kmart Kettle.

We have just bought a kmart kettle as a replacement

          Thks for info

    • I also read some bad comments regarding these kettles.

but I got a very basic one of the same brand and it's been fine. you just press and switch and it boils, no fancy extra buttons. boils water.

I think other comments said it didn't survive water spilled on the base (instructions on mine say be careful and never do this). and another said it started leaking from the bottom of the clear window where you can see how much water is inside.

    • I've had the kettle for years, not a frequent user, but I don't touch the temperature numbers just the buttons, and I wipe it down with a dry cloth and it's great.
What a pain that there are no numbers there, the stainless steel or the black one?

    • Same - the printing comes off so easily.

Literally just ordered a basic replacement from another brand as the auto-cutoff has stopped working, ie it just keeps boiling until you manually switch it off.

  • Had this kettle. Numbers wore off and the locking hinge broke after 13 months

  • Locking hinge is a known issue on these kettles. I recommend filling water through the snout, without opening top. Really nice kettle otherwise, for the relatively short time it lasted for us
