Not sure what the regular price is for this as it's all over the place on BGO. Supposedly Amazon US has been trying to sell it for ~$40, while other places have it north of $100. In any case at $20 it's probably worth a gamble. Not sure how many are available. I bought one and it's still sitting at 0%. Looks like it might be "A great heavy euro space game with cool simulation elements." according to this review. It's also recommended at 1 player for those Nigel-no-friends out there. Something I definitely look at when buying games…

Price History

2357: violent astronomical events and the unregulated use of the new “solar extraction” technology have greatly accelerated the growth rate of our star. Now the Sun is nearing the end of its life cycle, and its fate is to transform into a Red Giant. This will result in an exceptional increase in volume that will cause it to engulf Mercury, Venus, and possibly Earth itself. In the best-case scenario, the increase in volume will stop short of our planet’s destruction, but life as we know it would have already been destroyed due to radiation and the dramatic increase in surface’s temperatures.

Our only hope is to build a colossal interstellar spaceship that would allow a fraction of humanity to evacuate on a “new earth” we have located in the Trappist star system during our search for viable extrasolar planets. Such a project, however, is far from simple: the resources we need can’t be found on our planet, and the few made available from the solar extraction technology are still insufficient. The only way to complete this monumental task is to harvest the materials needed directly from the other planets of our solar system.

In Starship Interstellar, you are the leader of one of the world's most influential Corporations, that has chosen to rise to the occasion and do their part to help complete this project. Your goal is to be the foremost contributor in the race to complete the starship before it is too late. The corporation that takes the lead in this project will have the honor of helping guide humanity to its new home.

Had my attention until 'Euro' and a weight of 3.83. Crazy cheap considering coming from US.

    • I think they've just had a really hard time marketing/selling the game. I read through a few reviews on BGG and everyone basically says the same thing. Noone has heard of it but when they play it it's really good. I honestly don't know if I'll ever get around to playing it but at $20 it doesn't really matter.

      • Fair, I know personally at that weight im definitely not going to find anyone to play it and I hate heavy games/Euros where you spend more time decyphering rules than playing. Got some big bills coming up so can't really splash out on games atm which is bad timing (though I did just buy the collectors edition of Worms so hope the missus doesnt find out).

        • I'm still very early in my board game playing journey so I'm hoping heavier games aren't so bad for me (I've bought quite a few already though). I think heavier games would suit my personality but I'd have to get over the learning of them first I guess. I'll have to work my way up to them.

          • @ozbs25: They are games im happy to play if someone has learnt it for me and can explain as we go. Ive played a few slightly heavier games but only when the people im playing with have already learnt it. I haven't got the attention span to be constantly double checking.
