  • Feedback and thoughts on this guys? I’m looking at Eero 7 pro , this and the recent cheaper Netgear wifi 7 tri band mesh.

    • Bang for buck, I think the RBE773 @ $731 is the clear winner. And, if you test your luck at an OW store to see if the staff member beats it, even better. I tried, but the staff member at my local noticed the Prime only deal straight away.

      • +1

Thanks. I will try my luck with OW store on Thursday. If not Amazon it is.

        • JB and HN should price match if you fail the price beat @ OW.

    • I haven't tried Eero or netgear but I have this BE65 3 pack and it works great, haven't had any of the usual issues people encounter with mesh such as disconnections/lag etc.

They've also got a nice block internet setting you can apply to specific devices now if you want to use IoT stuff only on LAN no internet.

As someone who used to be deep into router configs/setting/firmware flashing etc I'm pretty impressed with how little I've had to do on this to make it work well.

I personally went with the be65, the lack of usb on the orbi made my decision quite easy.
Correct me if im wrong but i believe the QOS is behind a paywall on the orbi.

Not much experience with eero just know that its owned by amazon.

      • Thanks for mentioning this. Now I’m leaning toward this mesh setup.

  • Does this work with easy mesh?

    • In general ways mesh and deco mesh are not compatible…. Different protocols…..

    • Extremely painless. I’m a moron and got it working without any problems.

  • most of these cheap WiFi7 devices bottleneck at 2.5Gbps due to 2.5GbE input port. I have two MR47BE devices on easy mesh, it has the same flaw. The devices with 10GbE ports are expensive.

    • Genuinely curious to what you are doing that is bottlenecking 2.5gbe? I’m streaming uncompressed linux distros and barely touching the bandwidth on this device with that.

      • If you use a NAS, even a single mechanical drive would saturate 2.5GbE, so even 10GbE won't be enough for NVMe. Now 10GbE is affordable (much cheaper than these wifi APs) I recently got some 10GbE cards for my NAS PCs, $28 each delivered. I got 2 10GbE managed switches too, $120 (8 port SFP+) and $200 (4*RJ45+2SFP+), 1m 10GbE DACs are $16. Still 25/100GbE is expensive, specially switches.

I had this MR47BE as Wifi backhaling before, but recently got Ethernet cabling at house so I only use WiFi for phone, so it is now redundant.

        • What mechanical drives do you have that can sustain 280mb/s write speeds?

  • They changed the portal recently so I can’t check until later but definitely check goodguys commercial. I bought the 2 pack for $450 last year. This price seems quite high compared to that.

  • I would love some expert advice on which of these i should lean towards if someone has time.. I live in a small townhouse (roughly 280 sqm living across 2 levels), internal walls are thin. I have a couple of eufy security cameras at the front of the house. I am currently using a TP link archer D9 which somehow has lasted 10+ years and still covering all areas of the house pretty good. I was looking to move to some new tech and looking at the below options. Which would you guys recommend? i'm on NBN 750mbs down at the moment, i stream netflix and youtube often on tv and overall around 60 wifi connected devices, like garage, lights, plugs etc (it's not fun when the internet drops out at my place, nothing works ha!)

    TP-Link Deco BE11000 Tri-Band Whole-Home Mesh Wi-Fi 7 System 2 Pack - $699 JB
    Netgear Orbi® BE11000 Tri-band Mesh Wi-Fi 7 System 2 Pack - $799 JB
    Eero Pro 7 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Mesh Router [3 Pack] - $839 JB

    Thanks for your time community.

    • I can vouch for the Deco, been using BE65 in 250m2 house (3 pack) and it's been flawless. I have about 70 devices connected. Haven't tried the other 2, so cannot really provide opinion.

  • I have been looking at this system. Is this one off Amazon the v1 or v2 variant? If anyone that has purchased one from Amazon could confirm that would be great.
