This was previously posted for $799.99 and now it's even cheaper thanks to the $250 off coupon.

It offers 6 SATA bays and 2 M.2 NVMe SSD slots if you're needing the extra space for all those East Digital drives, as well as the Intel N95 4 core, 4 thread CPU @ 3.4GHz with Intel UHD graphics, 8GB DDR5 4800MHz RAM (upgradeable to 32GB) and dual 2.5GbE LAN ports.

These are great for all the essentials including network storage with RAID redundancy, Plex/Jellyfin, Docker, video surveillance, syncing to OneDrive/Google Drive/Dropbox and more. For those who have used TerraMaster before, TOS6 is miles better than TOS5 found in the older models and you can easily install your own OS such as Unraid, Arc Loader (Xpenology), Windows and more.

Other features include USB 3.2 Gen2 10Gbps USB-A & USB-C ports and HDMI 2.0b (command input on TOS6 only, video output with other OS'). Due to CPU limitations both of the M.2 NVMe SSD slots are PCIe 3.0 x1 only.

$70 PC with the $700 case

    • Came here to ask why

      • That's what NAS drives are. A PC with multiple enclosures and other hardware wrapped around it. You can certainly get your own DIY kits and do it yourself or go for the prebuilt option like this that works out of the box.

Yeah this is hard to justify

Can you find any $70 AUD Intel N95 PCs?

        • AMD 5500 costed about this much the day before but is not designed for low power unless setting up a barebone metal.

@bcYield: So that's just the CPU and it's going to exceed $70 for the PC part..

If one was wanting to do Plex the 5500 would be a bad choice in comparison to Intel.

Just buy a low-power PC and a case, install a bunch of disk drives and run Truenas

    • I regret not grabbing one of the amd 5500 to tinkering my diy nas. It should give lots more processing power.
