Full Boar 1HP 750W Floor Mounted Pedestal Drill Press - $224.25 @ Bunnings (Limited Stores)

Definitely not a deal for everyone but randomly found what looks to be old stock in Bunnings and not listed online, kept under the racks near the hire gear and not in the tool shop

I have no idea the original price of this but I remember them on clearance a few years ago for $350 or something and regretted not buying one then, best I can find is this Wayback Machine link for $549 in 2022 (albeit FBT-8500, the one in Bunnings is FBT-8501 - NFI what the difference is). Box I picked up is dated 2022 so must be when they were delisted. Sporadic stock around the country, though my local said 1 available and there were 3 there.

Immediately next to it they had a Full Boar 750W Bandsaw w/stand for $225.62 - so naturally I grabbed that too. Worse stock levels than the drill press and it said 1 at the local, but there were 2. Wayback Machine shows that at $499 in March of this year, this box also dated 2022 though

No idea about this product but I must share my experience with Full Boar drill bits breaking on first use everytime. It's a Bunnings brand as is Craftright but FWIW Craftright bits haven't ever failed. I'll never look at Full Boar ever again.

I've had good success with their impact bits and saw blades though? Full Boar is actually owned by Ozito and meant to be more "trade quality" than the DIY Ozito (non-PXC) stuff

  • Bench Press?💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

  • Those bandsaws were around the $700/$750 mark most of their lives. They dropped down to $500 when they stopped making them and Bunnings wanted to clear their inventory. I went to go get one but my Bunnings was already sold out.

  • $149 for the drill at Bayswater, WA
    2 left

    • Damn, i was going to pass on this deal but at that price i couldn't.
Bayswater are sold out, 3 left at rocko but they were keeping to the sticker price of $224. I bought it anyway.

  • Thanks OP, rang round and found stock at east gardens if anyone still wants either/both.

1 x Bandsaw left, box is a bit beat up (I took the good one)

5 x drill press, all look good condition.

    $440 for both. Not bad.

Super helpful staff there. Really nice.

  • Just wondering for the stepper rail does the small end go up or down? The bar with teeth has a short end and a long end and the instruction books have it long end up but then few pages later short end up

    • Functionally it won't make a difference, just changes the highest and lowest position but that's limited by the chuck anyway. The box image has short side up if you want to copy that, it's actually both up and down on the same page in the know your product section lol

I went back and looked at the FBT-8500 from the archive, they have their rail with long side up on the product images so maybe they were reusing diagrams or something when compiling the manual for this one? Also the new one has a work light and the old one didn't which is fun

      • Cheers I went big side up, don’t think it matters much since I wound it all the way up and it goes much higher than the teeth so any more and it would go into the drill head. I doubt I will go all the way down as well.

  • Fyi i just picked up the bandsaw for $112.81 last one in my local though
