  • Keen on this one.. does anyone own it and have feedback? I'm not a tradie but would this be good for tradespeople?

DIY tradies yes but actual tradies no.

I have an older version of this drill (probably 10+ years old).

Mine is only single speed, no hammer function and plastic chuck.

I used it to build a stud wall using screws (c. 2020) That worked it to it's max. It even let the smoke out while sinking one of those screws, but it kept going.

Since then I have upgraded to Bosch Blue, but I still regularly reach for this one for driving screws in light-duty applications, eg dismantling appliances, building flat pack furniture etc.

I just keep it with a Phillips head bit inserted, and I like it because it is light and comfortable in the hand. And the torque limit is great for quickly driving in screws in light duty applications.

Ozito equivalent is currently $99 - without a battery

It is slighty heavier (1.6kg vs. 1.4kg) and has slightly more torque (50 vs 43).
    Drilling depths about the same.

I'd still get Ozito if it was the same price as I've already got some batteries.

    • What are the odds of a price match or price drop at bunnings?

    • I ended up pulling the trigger despite being in the DeWalt ecosystem.

Justified that price for a good all rounder DIY brushless skin and battery unit compared to Ozito and other cheapies, use it as a backup to the DeWalt, it was a much lighter unit for smaller jobs around home and for partner and just easier to manuever in tighter nooks.

    • when you say equivalent.. do you mean just the product type or even quality? I'd assume a bosch product even in the same category would be far superior to Ozito.

    • Aldi's coming out with a brushless drill+driver bundle on 18th Oct, you reckon Bunnings will do a price match for their brushless drill and drivers?

      • IIRC they usually do

        • I'll see what Bunnings do about this one. If I can get Ozito brushless hammer drill + impact driver for $99 even without battery, I'll be happy. Otherwise I'll grab the Aldi kit. My Workzone hammer drill went up in smokes but the impact driver is still kicking.

  • Showing as $149 for me. Looks like it's already claimed.

    • Yep same. Damn missed out.

  • meh, i would wait for an ozito deal as you are able to expand your range on the battery platform.
