Huh? Why would you get 128GB when double that is $31 more?

    • +4

i got the orginal quest 3 on launch, i only use it for Steam VR PC gaming some people dont' use the quest 3 for mobile vr on the go and don't care about storage.

will resale value, so i suggest go for 256gb

        • +1

i had a 64gb quest 2 which filled up in basically no time.

I think 256 is the sweet spot.

@Jimothy Wongingtons: I have the 128 OG quest 3 on launch day barely used 40gb because all my VR is don't via PC.

      • Ok. I can see that. Personally we got the original Meta 3 with 512GB and that's full. I understand there would be a lot of crap on there but get the message quite frequently that it's full and then I proceed to spend some time deleting the biggest apps..Couldn't fathom 128GB.

        • I have the orginal quest 3 on launch day the one that still has Oculus logos on it :D and I will always call the quest 3 a oculus quest 3

          • @kungfuman: I have an occulus quest 1… somewhere… Wonder if it still works.

            • @ATangk: very sure oculus did kill support for it after the quest 2 came out. I have had the quest 1 2 and 3 all with oculus logos on it lol. even all my accessories stll have O on it lol

            • @ATangk: I fired mine up after years on the shelf. There's a pop up that keeps asking me to log in Facebook. Can't really do anything or access anything other than internet until you do.

Most Quest games are still quite small. (They have to be, as Quest 2 64GB is still the most common headset in use).

If you only play a few games at a time, or you're mostly getting this for PCVR, 128GB is plenty.

And another year goes by with no discount on the Quest 3.

Although I guess if it's the same price each year it's technically getting cheaper due to inflation.

    • This isn't really meant to be a deep sale everywhere, it's taking advantage of early supplier offers and trying to foster ordering volume through site impressions as much as anything.

Quest 3 deal should pop up next month, but I wouldn't expect anything that winds up much better than $699 (may partially come through promotional credit). Quest 4 can't be too far away, so I think the smarter play is either fish around for something in that price range that's modern and with eye-tracking, or wait.

As others have noted, Quest 2 or Quest 3S used can be a good pick up if it's substantially cheaper than $350.

        What are you smoking?
They are probably making money on the 3s, that's why they made it. I doubt they will drop price on the 3 because they want customers to buy into 3s. Let's hope I'm wrong because I want a 3

        • What does anything I wrote have anything to do with dropping the price of the Quest 3 to the price of the Quest 3S next month?

They want both to sell until they have new models.

If I were you I’d get a cheap quest 2 off marketplace. Less than $200. Good way to get started

Hi op, did you want to mention the referral system in the description?also can confirm 128g is fine for gorilla tag, beatsaber and streaming

  • why don't you add the 256GB one to deal as well??

    it's only $31 more.

I actually saw 256GB drop close to $500 once but it was out of stock before I could post it. this is a good deal.

  • New meta accounts buying a new headset should be able to stack with the OzBargain referral randomiser to get $47 game credit: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/meta.com
