Still available for delivery for some locations.
Delivery is still up for me, as rohitoygre said, but in store also at my three nearest shops (Traralgon, Moe, Warragul), definitely plenty of stock still around.
Delivered FREE with OnePass for me
But still happy with $135 G54 bought April 24 - with 8GB RAM.
Don't think could go back to 4GB RAM
I got the G54 a week or so after release for free, absolutely loved it. Accidentally broke the screen coming home from a concert, wasn't going to pay for a new screen on a phone I got for free, dealt with it for a while, then…
I got the G54 for 150 in the fabled JB HiFi deal, absolutely loved it. Accidentally broke the screen getting out of the car the other week, long story. Also wasn't going to pay for a new screen on a phone I got for 150, dealt with it for a while, then…
I got the G55 for 159 from this deal because I'm not paying 100+ for an aftermarket screen replacement on a phone that only cost 150 odd in the first place anyway. Thanks OP!
Your user name checks out when it comes to your phone screens.
Accidentally broke the screen on the G55… wasn't going to pay for a new screen.
Nope!
The G55 sweating bullets right now
How to get free phones?
And then?
No more and then!
Aaannnd then?
@Kiro: There's a good chance I'll be throwing it at the missus' Nan come year's end. She's after an upgrade at some point and an SD card slot is her main (only) real request.
But when sheeee breaks it…
@TheDukeOfNukem: tell you what, even though a good phone has an SD card slot, i found that a back up to cloud is so much better.
right now i have 2 devices, my main device, and a backup that have been setup to mirror each other. this is doable by cloud backup and if ever a device is lost/ stolen or broken, boom a backup is ready but if i need to switch to another device, the cloud simply has it all ready to view.
@Kiro: I agree, I have been entirely on Google Photos backups since my Nexus 5 days.
Her nan however, pays for foxtel, so…
I've not used screen protectors on these moto deals… your just super unlucky it seems haha.
Two years, a fantastic phone I can't fault, 150 spent. I feel lucky enough tbh.
You should look to buy a charging brick that comes with a phone.
Definitely saving the planet from eWaste, so claimed by Applethe one trick that phone manufacturers don't want you to know!
Dukey you need to a phone case and stop dropping your bloody phones
Get a gorilla glass screen protector.
A bumper case with a raised lip around the screen should be all you need
The g55 supposedly has gorilla glass anyways so ideally she'll be right. Either way, this is a temp phone, I'm waiting on a kickstarter blackberry style phone that ships in December, that'll be my pride and joy for a while.
Instead of breaking all the screens why don't you just buy a better phone and get a screen protector. Or is it just more fun to live dangerously?
There is no better phone for the price to value ratio, even still.
The first one got cracked late at night, came home from a show and put the flash light on, left the phone on my boot to light the way to the bins to take them out. And the boot isn't perfectly flat and it slid off, RIP
The second, which was only a week or two back, was coming out of the car, the door (that it was in) got wedged into some trees (I was passengering, it was a bad park) and it got knocked out onto the driveway.
My driveway has cost me two phones.
But also, because I've had a great phone day in day out for like 2 years now, and paid 150 total. I'm not complaining one bit. I hate cases, I hate more shit in my pockets than needed, all of it. It's a cost I'm willing to pay. If I had a 1500$ iPhone like the missus, I'd have a case, don't you worry
I have an iPhone. It's old but it still works well.
Honestly I dream of having enough money so that I can use it without a case or screen protector. It feels so much better in the hand, doesn't get caught when putting it into your pocket plus it's the ultimate flex.
4GB ram is the only let down of this phone.
For the price range and specs I imagine the target market don't need too much more than that though
FM radio wow even $2,000 samsung zfold doesnt have that
Also SD card, speaker jack and if it's like other Motorola phones, the package probably contains a charger and a cable and a case
All 6 things the high end phones no longer include.
the high end phones no longer include -> they said to protect the environment… more like protect their profit margin
Apple care about the environment… HAHAHA! xD Make me laugh!
FM radio
Usually, the phones with the 3.5mm stereo jack, has the FM radio "feature",
because the earphones act at the antenna, for the radio.GSMArena: Moto G55

4Gb-RAM: savvy & LOW-ram users should consider EXTENSIVE-research… $159 is competitive for the features.
Virtual-RAM WILL introduce laggy-responses, but SOME users are likely to live with 4Gb-RAM, eg kids 1st phone 👧, or grandparents introduction to smartphone.
My Motorola: Android15: Running-services tells me that I'm using ~2.3Gb ram. On Android14: I often see ~3Gb ram usage & it seems Motorola had tweaked their Android15 ram usage for my phone & finger-crossed that they did the same for G55. My 8Gb-ram is a nice future proofing feature that I'm UN-likely to use.
Technology is complex & so ARE users: circumstances are wide & vast, lol.
Are you typing some sort of message in code with all the RANDOM capital WORDS?
I don't know how to bold my words @ OzBargain & hence use capitalisation as substitution.
My aim is to highlight/emphasise & not shout, lol.
OzB uses markdown so you can bold words by adding two asterisks before and after words, like
**this**
. See the “formatting help” button below the comment box for more info.
It looked like they were using it for emphasis but then the “so ARE users” at the end makes no sense lol
I'm guessing it's to highlight that users are complex, too, because we (collectively) tend to blanket our preferences/experiences as the best for most.
Most useful feature when going blat on the bike in the bush
Thanks op bought one last night and was hesistant to post on OZB as the only option showing was getting delivered and ordered one for delivery, lets see if the actually have any in stock , good deal
100%. That Pixel is 8 years older than the G55.
Pixel hasn't received security updates in 5 years.
Wow how is that possible? It was a beautiful phone back in it's day, I bet it still takes great photos
That's if the camera still works. My Pixel 2XL rear camera crapped it after about 2-2.5 years, Seems to have been a pretty common hardware issue amongst the Pixel 2 lineup.
This Moto is the modern budget phone, the best of its price range but its range is the lowest tier. That Pixel is a former flagship, from the highest tier and one of the best phones overall of its release year. It's up to you. I personally would always pick a former flagship, most of OzBargain would pick a modern budget or midrange over it.
Google Pixel 2XL won't connect to any network any more.
OOS online
Bought one for click and collect at my local.
Not 100% sure on the use yet, Maybe a good work phone to give to one of my employees to use.
No stock near me. How are people getting the delivery option?
So dam cheap but missed out
Why were Tasmania and NSW excluded?
How is this not classed as out of stock.
Hi all - I conned JB HIFI to price match even though its out of stock in my region, just find out a state its in stock - Winning :)
