First post, let me know if I missed anything. ;;

Was looking to buy my first mechanical keyboard and saw this aluminum one for a pretty good price (almost 40$ less than the popular plastic ones I was looking at like the Aula F75).

Seems great for the price, with 75% layout full aluminum body, knob, RGB, hot swap, and tri-mode connectivity (BT5.0/2.4GHz/USB-C). Other aluminum wireless keyboards similar to this seem to be priced more at the 120$ - 180$ range.

Price is after the 20% off at checkout.

Checked out some reviews and while it does sound good it does have some small drawbacks:

No QMK/VIA
Giant MechLands logo on the underside some people might not like

Also comes in black for the same price but seems lower stock availability. Black colorway OOS

Price History at C CamelCamelCamel.

The body certainly looks well built with all the right strengthening materials and sound dampening materials. I’m also a big fan of 75% keyboards. I collect mech keyboards. Have around 15 at the moment. The only thing to note about this one is that they specify their switch as verdant linear switch. I can’t find any reference to that switch that isn’t from this brand. A switch will absolutely make or break your mech keyboard experience. If the switches are crap you could easily spend just as much again replacing them with better ones. I also can’t see if they say the switches are pre-lubed which is a must.

    • I also can’t see if they say the switches are pre-lubed which is a must.

      Old keyboards need lube 😂

    • Confirmed, it's prelubed

Yeah seems like it's their own switches, can't see any info on their website regarding if it's pre-lubed or not

There's surprisingly a lot of YouTube reviews on this specific keyboard, the typing sound sounded pretty good to me (tho I've never had a mech and don't really know about the thocky or creamy stuff haha)

I guess I'll find out when it arrives if I'll enjoy the typing feel/sound

      • You will def need them pre-lubed if you're wanting to get deep into the thocky & creamy stuff.

  • I'm using the EPOMAKER x Aula F75 which is $40 more and it's great.

This keyboard has no kick stands on the bottom and reviews say it's pretty loud but still has a nice tone to it.

But tempting for the price…. Or just get the wired version of the f75

    • From my research into mech keyboards, I don't think I found a single aluminum keyboard with a kickstand (most of them just have a shiny plate at the bottom like this one)

Must just be a drawback with any aluminum keyboard

Just received mine its a fantastic keyboard for the price although heavy as its a solid build. Coming from a ducky keyboard love the sounds of the key presses.

  • prices says $82.49 for me, how do you get it down to 65.99

    • It should still have 20% off the price when you're at checkout, should bring it down to the title price (+ any other discounts like the PayTo discount)

  • Grabbed one for missus, figured I will return if she doesn't like it.

Nothing compares with my 8bitdo but I recognise the style it's not for everyone.

  • Buy the Ajazz ak820 instead, well reviewed, sounds amazing stock. Its plastic though, $85. Cheap keyboards imo is not worth it, since its the base and you can change everything else. Worth getting a decent base.
For alum, the lemokey p1 or monsgeek m1 is good value.
