The Dreamers is a beautifully indulgent fever dream of youth, cinema, and rebellion. The kind of film that feels both intimate and mythic.

Michael Pitt delivers a quietly magnetic performance, embodying a mix of vulnerability and curiosity that grounds the story’s chaos. Louis Garrel moves through the film with his trademark languid charm and poetic detachment, while Robin Renucci provides a subtle but essential moral gravity that reminds us of the world beyond the apartment’s intoxicating isolation. Under Bernardo Bertolucci’s masterful direction, every frame hums with sensual energy and cinematic reverence - a love letter to film and the dangerous allure of idealism.

Oh, and there’s someone in this movie called Eva Green.

Beautifully indulgent is a good way to describe this one lol. Good find, that's half what I paid for it, and the 4K presentation is excellent.

A fever dream certainly isn't though. I re-watched Mirror Mask the other night, and THAT is a fever dream lol.

For those who want to see Eva Green in a great outfit in 4k! Haha

    • Err, no - start at 300: Rise of an Empire.

Worth it just to see Brad Pitt's younger brother Michael Pitt.

    booba

  • The main three here have done a stupendous job respectively. Michael Pitt who looks a lot like di Caprio, Eva Green at her sensuous best and Garrel who does it best playing vulnerable characters. Certainly one of Bertolucci's standout movie.

    • Certainly one of Bertolucci's standout movie?

"The Last Emperor" is Bertolucci's most standout movie (won all 9 Oscars including Best Picture) and Last Tango in Paris is well known

Don't think many people even remember what this movie is about or even know of this movie…
