Great price for a great air purifier. Works better than my Xiaomi ones (3 and 3H). Filters are probably double the size of the Xiaomi

    • +2

      works better in what way?

      • Filtration effectiveness. The carbon filter and HEPA filter is much larger so the fan can run at lower speed and therefore volume to clean the air. More carbon also means less VOCs or odours. The Xiaomi sounds like a jet engine when running at full speed.

    • +2

And the Philips filter is also double the price of Xiaomi filter.

      • My 3h is collecting dust. Anyone know to get filters?

        • AliExpress, eBay, Amazon.

  • Looks like I can grab the 4200i for $295 from the Good Guys, but have read that this may be better due to the clean air being pushed from the top and filters only needing to be replaced every 3 years as opposed to yearly on the 4200i.

Anyone got any thoughts on which to purchase?

    • I have this and the new 3200i (not the 4200i). I prefer the new design in every way except the exorbitant pricing of the new filters. I think that having the airflow come from the side instead of the top is an improvement not a disadvantage. That said, this is still a great unit.

    • Oooh how?
I can only see $330 on the website

      • I just reached out to webchat, quoted the Amazon pricing and mentioned that I unfortunately forgot to utilise my targeted 15% off code.

It would be been $289 had I used the code, but they were nice enough to do $295 for me.

3 years, lol. you need to change any filter sometime around 3 months, 6 months or annually. i wouldn't wait 3 years of collected crap clogging up the filter making it work harder and less efficiently.

  • Had one for a few years for the bedroom, app has never worked though.

    • +1

      Will it remove fart smells?

      • Actually the gas detector does detect farts are increases the fan speed. And yes, the carbon filter removes fart smells.

        • +4

Cool thanks, bought 2 for a friend.

  • +1

What does a filter replacement cost for these?

Are they like printers where the cartridges cost more than the unit?

    • +1

got one on sale for about $50, last awhile though

      • Where did you get it from?

    • Idk if I’m an outlier case but mine is still going strong with the original filter since purchasing it 2 years ago. The app shows when it needs to be changed and mine’s still over 90% capacity

      • +5

it's based on how much you use it, it doesn't actually know the condition of the filter

        • I mean we use it a couple times a week but still has not prompted us to replace or clean the filter.

      • should last 2 years depends on usage though

    • +1

I’m still on the first filter after 3yrs - down to 10% remaining. The device tells you when it’s due to be replaced based on throughput. I use my every night in sleep allergy mode and sometimes during the day.

I bought 3 spare filters on amazon sale - at this rate it will last 12 years!!

  • 3000 vs. 3200 (for extra $54)? Any suggestions?

    • +5

      I have been using 3000 (1 year) and 4200 (1 week).

3000 is the preferred machine due to these reasons :
      - better built and looks more elegant
      - 3 times longer filter life (3 years vs 1 year)
      - airflow goes upwards rather than side ways, so 3000 is more flexible for smaller rooms.

I guess 3200 is similar to 4200, with 1 less sensor.

  • endedup being $205 with promos

    • Only for 100 coupon
      Then 5% for pay to

      220 :(

      • I had $10 coupons from purchasing itwms from specific catagories.

Here's a good independent review of the device (from a UK tester who tests nothing but air purifiers it seems)

    https://youtu.be/-wbXnfM9cso?si=iqjTbuoyyWQKOKZv

    • What's the verdict

      • The ranking is here
        https://housefresh.com/best-air-purifiers-we-tested/

They ranked it 50th overall out of 110, the newer 3200 is 18th.

But the PC fan filter boxes top the list for flow and noise.

        • 50 sounds bad, should i cancel?

          • +2

@magnitude: That is stupid logic. A ranking alone tells you nothing. Maybe all of them are good. Maybe there is only a 5% difference in score between best and worst.

            • -2

@lunchbox99: not worth it, just cancelled. 50th is mediocre

              • @magnitude: Best to do your own research inc costs of filters and rate of filtration at the sound level that is acceptable to you.

        • +1

it's ranking gets pulled down because of it's RRP .. so not very helpful in this scenario

          • @jordnz: That's good to know. I'd probably have not cancelled with that knowledge but done now.

            • @magnitude: this is why you should make decision by doing your own research instead of listening to an one liner from random internet users.

              • @Pidapipo: Doing your own research is fine if you have infinite time. I'm not going to deep dive into something as complicated as air purifiers imho.

                • +3

@magnitude: Reading more than 1 one-liner comment from a random internet user is hardly deep diving though.

Wow great price! Thanks op. Been using the 2000i model for $381 and very happy about it. Was trying to get one recently and this is a bargain!

  • Cheers, been looking at air purifiers for the living space. Bought a couple of IKEA ones for bedrooms, but they don't cover a decent area.

  • I have the 1000i. Pretty happy, the app and google integration is good. It hasn't cured my hayfever/allergies though

    • Damn, this is literally the reason i just bought it. Has it improved it/reduced symptoms at least?

      • Not sure, kinda. YMMV

      • I have pretty severe allergies/hayfever…. 100% notice a difference. I regularly get my eyes swollen shut. Haven't had it happen once since I owned an air purifier with a HEPA/carbon filter. It's anecdotal of course, but I can even notice if I haven't turned it on in a week. Worth it, in my opinion. But I guess it also depends on the severity of your reactions + what you're allergic to

  • oh wow. I grabbed one. much cheaper than the other ones I've been looking at.

  • Thanks, I was tossing up between this and the 4200 but this price is too good

  • Bought this for $400 last year, going to buy another.

  • Purchased one after reading comments and reviews shared. Thank you OP! I've been wanting to try a purifier for many years to help with per dander, hayfever and just general cooking smells at home. This price is fantastic for this unit. Works out to be between $205 to $215 with TCB $5 off and the % off.

  • This is a crazy price for these, must surely be running them out once and for all. I've owned one since 2020 and think it's great. I just bought my third, thanks OP!

  • This indeed removed my hay fever at home

  • Thanks OP, what 100 dollar coupon code is this ? I can’t seem to find it.

    • it shows under the price, do you have prime ?

      • Oh you’re a legend ! I never noticed there were coupon codes under items until now 😢

      • I don't see a $100 coupon on either website or app :(

  • Can anyone suggest where to get reasonably priced replacement filters?

    • Amazon regularly has them on sale. I've gotten replacement filters for $50 before from them

  • bought one :)

  • Anyone know if the coupon prevents cashbck from topcashback? Just wondering if I can use their $5 cashback offer with this?

    • +1

ShopBack has 5% Cashback on all categories might be worth more

  • +1

ShopBack has 5% cashback as well on appliances today .

  • Interested to know what this helps with? Is it allergies and hayfever? If I don’t have any allergies or hayfever does it do anything for me? Thanks

    • Did some speed research, looks like these are great for general air freshness and quality. Good at removing odours, harsh air pollutants, and perfect if you’re in an area where there’s lots of pollution and keeping windows and doors open is not always practicable. There’s heaps of info about the benefits online :)

  • Gotta say I still hate Amazon gaslighting about being out of stock when it's just somewhere they won't deliver.

  • +2

$100 coupon seems to have run out?

  • Please cmiiw but isn’t this the model whose filter Phillip has discontinued?

  • Only see $10 coupon now, $100 must have run out

  • Cant get the coupon anymore

    • Customer support agreed to refund the expired coupon because I was already checking out.

      • They wouldn't fore even though it expired while in my cart and I was checking out.
Wasted an hour chatting to three seperate people.

They were asking for a screenshot of the coupon box as evidence. How the F am I meant to produce it when it's no longer there?

        I was peeved

  • -3

Air purifiers - first develop the solution, then create the problem. Sounds like Kangen water.

    • Except Kangen water doesnt even give a solution to anything

  • +1

    Looks like it's expired

  • +1

    no coupon shows for me

  • Thanks OP

  • Previously bought a 100$ Chinese brand, did not know if it was doing something, would like to try a big brand at this price point. Paid like 215 ish with the codes

  • Great price but not a fan of the fabric top

  • Why do you need purifier in Australia?

    • +10

Cooking smoke and smells, fire smoke, close to main roads with babies, chronic allergies, asthma and/or hayfever.

      • +1

        thanks mate.

  • Anyone got the 100$ discount apply screen capture ?
Webchat said can try to apply it

  • Will this remove dust at home?

    • +1

No. Get a robovac if you want to reduce dust in your home.

  • So bummed I missed this :(

  • Any chance Phlips will discontinue making the filters in a year or two?
