Plug-in pet Security Camera | 1080p HD Video, Privacy Cover, Wi-Fi, DIY alternative to a CCTV system | 30-day free trial of Ring Home

Pretty good at ~$30ea if buying 2, especially if you’re already in the system and looking to expand.
Each comes with a 30 day free trial of Ring Home. Last time I bought 6 and activated one at a time each month for 6 months free of Ring Protect.
I also use these outdoor (undercover, 1 year+ now) and they are holding up fine.

Note they have a newer 2K version at $99 so must be clearing these out now.

I’m referring to you being the product with Amazon devices and the privacy issues they have considering Amazon has no desire to fight and is willing to give law enforcement access to the doorbell footage etc…

the fact that you are being downvoted is just sad, maybe we deserve to have social credits here too.

          • @muximus59: Careful what you wish for.

          • @muximus59:

There has been a widespread misconception that China operates a nationwide and unitary social credit "score" based on individuals' behavior, leading to punishments if the score is too low.

            • @realaccount627465746: Well, we have a credit score system here. It is checked when you apply for a credit card or a home loan. Even signing up for a long term postpaid mobile deal requires a credit check. If your credit score is low or Tel$tra doesn't like what they see in the credit check report, you can't buy a 24 months plan with an iPhone with Tel$tra / JB Mobile.

@muximus59: aww is it sad to you that not all of us are extreme privacy nuts?

        • For now, police needs to request the owner for permission or have a warrant (in the United states).

However, if you don't have a Ring subscription, Amazon / Ring won't even let you save the videos (hard to imagine Amazon would save them in the cloud with their own money).

OZBer getting these most likely won't get the subscription (because that costs more than the camera itself per year). To me, Internet being mandatory for these cameras to work (even if you don't want subscription features) is the most annoying part. It just feels like you don't fully own the device.

Anyway, these are just toys, until el cheapo $10-$20 cameras on AliExpress become decent (because those are currently junk).
