50% off Spintop games till Wed 7 Jan 2009

30

Spintop (downloadable) games are 50% off at the moment.

They have heaps of different games including Scrabble, Monopoly, action games and more.

Could be good for kids, your parents, yourself :) Probably good for people with netbooks looking to load a little bit of entertainment on their computers.

I think it's about $10 - $15 US dollars a game, after 50% off, but I haven't purchased from them in over 3 months.

Note 1: They have "download free game" buttons all over their site. I think the buttons should really say "download free game trial"

Note 2: when purchasing, they automatically include a backup CD in your order. The CD will be $8.50 before postage. You might want to remove that from the order, before completing your purchase.

Note 3: when purchasing games, they will probably try to offer you a special deal. Before accepting any special deals, be aware of whether it really is a subscription (ie ongoing payments) or not

Note 3: I havn't purchased games from them in a while so I'm not sure if anything has changed since the last deal I posted.

(I do not work for Spintop. I just have family members who like some of the downloadable games from such sites)

  • I always thought that board games were an alternative to the computer. This has just blown my mind :P
Also I might be incorrect here: but aren't Scrabble and Monopoly trademarks of Hasbro and Parker Bros respectively?

    • :)

Computer makes board games a lot easier.

Also if your friends can't drop by to play a board game, you can just play against the computer :) This can also speed things up as the computer may play faster than some people :)

The games are fun for some low stress entertainment. Also a lot of people know the rules for them. eg I got a couple of games for my mum. :) Along that vein, imagine trying to teach World of Warcraft or something to one of your parents … :) (assuming you haven't done so already :) )

I don't know who has the trademarks for the games, but if you're wondering how Spintop gets to sell games with those names, I believe they pay license fees :)
