The best sounding wireless headphones I've used, with stellar battery, and aptX means it can be used for gaming on your PC (you'll need a usb dongle), but it's also known to have QC issues.

    • which dongle allows you to use microphone at the same time?

i remember that APTX dongles in the past used to fall back to low quality audio when there is a game chat happening.

      • Creative BT-W4 and onwards, or anything like it that supports aptX. Sorry, I can't comment on game chat as I only play single player games and have a dedicated mic for chat.

    • Yes I sold my Sony XM5 and got these plus change.
Sound quality for music is a fair bit better, longer battery. QOL features not quite as good, ANC is much better on Sony but I don't fly that often. They are a bit heavier and hotter than the Sony but alright for the office.

Both still need some EQ'ing but easy to do a search for the settings. The Sonys are a bit muddier but meant to be improved slightly with the XM6.

    • Hey mate I just bought these, what would the dongle enable over normal Bluetooth? Could I just use the cord?

      • Yep you can as long as you use the flight adapter. Bluetooth also works, you can get one of those they sell in amazon

  • Better than Sony MX-4/5/6?

    • +2

Can be considered better audio wise and has the ability to play over USB C which is nice which Sony doesn't.

But Sony has considerably better ANC. So for travel use in noisy places or planes you may want the ANC of Sony.

      • Ah, yeah for me I mostly want the ANC, since I'm musically deaf! 😂🤣

So I'll keep an eye out for the MX-5/6.

    • Well they're not a travel fashion icon like the XMs or AirPod Max

  • How hot do these get around the ears? Tried AirPods Max and Sony XM4 and they get too hot for me after 30 mins.

Maybe it's time to invest in a Jisulife portable fan?

  • Awesome Battery, got it last year for 282.
Only thing that i don't like is it randomly disconnects from the connected device

    • +4

That seems like a pretty serious issue…

They sound amazing but mine have gone back under warranty within the first few months. Buzzing in one channel which seems to be a known issue. You are also expected to pay one way postage for the warranty claim.

  • Best bang for buck anc I used. I switched from Bose to these last year and never been happier. Software just works (unlike Bose), anc is not bad, battery is effing amazing, sound quality amazing.
While I just bought the xm6 few days ago, it was purely because I got it for 350. Sony is better in most ways apart from battery.
However not worth $300 better. Maybe $50 better.
I recommend these for all bang for buck proposition.

    • Even considering AKG N9 Hybrid's $199 price tag before? I really like the AKGs especially the dongle that comes with it. The connection is so much sturdier than Bluetooth. Sound-wise they're excellent also. Would love to try the Momentum 4s but damn it I have too many headphones already.

      • Just compare buying high-end headphones to high-end speakers, and then you'll feel better!

      • Nothing beats battery on these, sound quality second best, close. I recommend second pair as these- I am keeping mine as gaming headset.
Don’t own akg, but provided I picked it up for 238$ , 38 is worth paying for branding I think.

        • the AKG N9 is not as comfy as Bose QC Ultra but the battery is on-par with M4

    • I need majorly for listening Music - Which one is better Sony XM's or this one?

      • Listening to music in what kind of environment? If it's noisy, then ANC greatly improves sound quality by allowing more detail to be heard over the top of ambient noise.

      • These are better sound wise. Less bloated bass which just ruins most music.

      • Try them out at JB if you can.

Really good price! I got the white ones for my girlfriend for $390 a couple years ago. We had some QC issues, they'd randomly turn off while playing music, likely due to the wear detection feature. That might be a dealbreaker for some, but we fixed it by installing the app and disabling the detection setting.
Not sure if firmware updates has fixed this, but yeah Goodluck haha.

  • this is a good deal from amazon because Even JB Hifi Business have it at $271 on Promo - https://www.jbhifi.business/search?ProductSearch=Sennheiser%…

  • +1

I had these, but in transparency mode, there was a constant noise. So I had to change to airpods max

  • how's this compare to Bose qc ultra?

  • Awesome battery and excellent sound quality. Definitely a good deal for the price.

  • Good price but think I still prefer the AKGNC700s over these. Almost the same audio quality and maybe even slightly better ANC. Used my momentums on a flight recently and they seemed very average in the ANC department.

My other issue is that they constantly connect to things if they are out of their travel case! Drives me insane. Anyone know how to combat this?
