Bad company. Despite over $2 billion in profits they didn't spend enough money to secure customer data.

    • In their defence (by all means I am no fan of their poor service) what makes you think that paying a ransom will ensure they hackers don't release that data later? It's not like you're realising a person alive is it

Sorry, you're not eligible for this offer

Sorry, your data has been harvested.

*** just released on the dark web for perusal.

      • Sorry, your data has been harvested from the internet and used to apply for a Qantas credit card recently, so you're not eligible for this offer.

  • This legit? The URL does not look right.

    Anyone know of this, 'cardsandbanking'

    • Just go to this offer via the Qantas website direct if you're unsure.

But just FYI, yes, from the official site you get directed to https://cardsandbanking.qantas.com/

It is a subdomain of qantas.com - this is what you should be looking at to ensure it's not a lookalike, e.g. qantes.com. If you own the domain, you can create more or less arbitrary subdomains.

    ’First-Time‘

20k Qantas Point isn't even enough for problems of leaking my data.

  • +1

24 months….i closed mine last year hoping to get it this time. well another year to wait

  • +2

    20k worth about $5 now

    • I'll pay $5 for your 20k pts. Lemme know.

  • +1

Anyone know how to find out which data of yours was specifically leaked? I know it was probably posted on the dark web but no idea how to check it and it's probably illegal to access the data. I just want to know exactly what data of mine was leaked.

      Try to check here.

Imagine any data you contacted through support desk and what Qantas has shared to it, as the break through point this time is salesforce.

Probably no payment methods leaked but all the rest IMHO.

      • I have been aggressively pwned haha. 16 times (I knew about most of them to be fair). Oddly the Qantas one doesn't show there. Possibly the Qantas data hasn't been indexed by the site yet.

I just have too many accounts (why does every website need an account?).

Gmail should implement a "reset all passwords using this email address" feature. No idea how it would work in practice, but if it could just hibernate all accounts using that email address, that would be great. If you ever then have to sign in again, you would need to reset your password. Because no matter how much I don't reuse passwords now, teenage me had no such qualms but I don't have the time/memory to change passwords/delete accounts for everything I have ever made an account for that might also have my data.

Did everyone forget Qantas "purposely" leaked your data couple months ago?

  • +3

24 months waiting period is no deal

  • +1

Does this come with dataleaks? or is that mandatory?

  • +1

Just logged in to neg this deal. Seriously Qantas company and their programs are a joke now. 24 months waiting period & crappy security attitude towards customer data?!! Aussies don't need to put up with that kinda bs.

  • Just another nail in the coffin for churners

  • In a perfect world, Qantas Points should be only be earnt by flying in the air.. like in the initials years of the QFF program.. always had J and F availability and the old "Anytime J" redemption which was just 2x the Classic Reward fare and could be booked for any flight at any time and earnt Status Credits.

  • Comes with free data exfil, that's probably hidden in the fine print somewhere.

  • +1

Complimentary enrolment into 'lifetime of identity theft' tier; with outsourced data storage of your personal and sensitive information, including your full name, date of birth, points balance, phone numbers, and email address. Membership also includes access to a live updates page, describing the dates your data was released to the dark web, and what we're not going to do about it, but what YOU should do about it.

  • Still waiting 3 months and counting to hear back from Qantas regarding my leaked data, filed multiple complaints and still no proper response other than generic replies that "Qantas takes customer data seriously." This evil and corrupt company should have died during covid rather than our taxpayer funds bailing them out.
