Haven't been able to get this one again after using once

    • +1

same, missed out on the last round and this round.

    • Same, wonder if it's single use only

      • I used it once before in April and got it again now

    • Same.

    • I've got it again this round but I don't think I've had it for about 6 months

  • I was targeted with this offer after claiming the last one ($10 cashback on a $100 card). Although that was one of the delayed cashbacks mentioned above.

  • damn, no love for me this time!

  • Luckily I got this after having the one way back in March. Didn't get it last month but my goodies had lapsed due to no transactions within 30 days.

  • +1

Recent NAB Goodies offers are beyond expectation I must say.

    • Which ones for example?

      • Like these two special gift cards within a single month. Both $100 - $20. Haven't seen a bank being so generous for quite a while.

  • Anyone know what retailers available for the GC "Supermarket Slayer". Trying to use their search tool to find the "5,000 retailers", but the typical big names don't show up ie. WW, Coles, Aldi etc..

    • +2

I've used the Supermarket Slayer at Woolies, Coles, Aldi, IGA, small and large Asian grocery stores, fruit &veg shops. It's very broad. Worst-case scenario is your card doesn't go through when you tap?

That gift card works at any retailers assigned MCC 5411 (Grocery Stores, Supermarkets) and choose to accept prepaid Mastercard gift cards, which should include Woolworths, Coles, IGA, etc.

The Featured Retailers section of the Special website only displays the retailers that Special thinks will accept their gift cards, but it has always been empty for the Supermarket Slayer gift card. That section is not a definitive list of retailers using MCCs eligible on the gift card, because Special only controls the MCCs permitted on their gift card. In other words, Special does not control the MCCs assigned to a merchant (as the MCC is assigned by their EFTPOS provider), and it something that can be changed by the EFTPOS provider at any time without warning. Imagine if Special said our gift card works at ALDI, but when you get there, it does not actually work, because ALDI the day before unilaterally decided to block Special gift cards as a payment method in their stores and did not inform Special about it beforehand…

I know there are a lot of other Special category gift cards that list some Featured Retailers, but that carries the same risk as above.

      • Added it to Google wallet but didn't seem to work when paying.

Is there a specific way to use them? Very fiddly

        • +1

I have only ever used them on Apple Pay.

Back when Special gift cards launched in 2022, I ran into intermittent issues using Special gift cards from an iPhone 6s, as the Coles and Woolworths EFTPOS terminals would sometimes return a "bad tap" error and wanted me to swipe or insert my card. However, after using a more modern iPhone, I had zero issues redeeming Special gift cards in-store at a range of retailers (e.g. Coles, Woolworths, Ampol Foodary, Shell Reddy Express).

There are a few people who recently complained about not being able to redeem their Special gift card in-store, so it sounds like it is not an isolated issue. As long as you stored your gift card onto Google Wallet as a new payment card, you are asking to pay by card and you are correctly tapping your device's NFC reader against the EFTPOS terminal's NFC reader, it should work. I am not sure what may be the issue in your case (or for the other commenters I linked to before).

It is fiddly. but worth it. There's an activation process that needs to be fulfilled on the Special app, then at the end there's a prompt to add it to your Google Wallet. I've loaded all of my Supermarket Slayers to my Google Wallet and that's how I use them.

Thanks @WookieMonster and @Charlie Dont Surf

Doesn't work at Costco but works at Woolies and Coles.

  • Nothing this time :(

  • Nothing for me! Sigh.

Mine hasn't been paid from when I purchased15th sept, they said they were having "delays" and said I would get it end of this month

  • Thanks!

  • I opted in ages ago on the NAB app for the NAB Goodies deals. I checked today and saw this promo which I activated. Went to the Special GC page and had to open an account with them before I could buy any GC's. I ended up getting a $100 JB HiFi GC and had it emailed to myself. Used my NAB Visa for payment. Only time will tell if the $20 cashback appears in my account…. Thanks OP!

    • +1

Was this a JB Hifi Online GC? The website kept saying it's a prepaid MasterCard card?
Edit: all good it's a Mastercard. I just input a custom amount I needed anyway.

      • +1

Yes, you are correct and I should have mentioned that. It's not a GC perse, it's basically a pre-paid credit card.

  • so i can get the supermarket card and pay for a lets say apple/google play gift card instore at coles/woolies?

  • Still waiting for cashback on Doordash last month, really not reliable, would not take the risks.

    • +2

There is a notice in the app saying they are aware of cashback delays for some transactions made between 15th Aug-30th Sept and that they will be paid out by end of this month. Personally mine have all been paid out on time so don't see any issue with it.

  • Had same deal on 25th Sept but yet to get cashback and have this again.

    good offer!

better than Amex 10% (max $20)

  • finally got offer for my debit card. thx OP

  • Didn’t get this offer damn

  • If you have a NAB Debit Card, and an NAB Credit Card can you double dip?

  • I got this offer last year but have not received it again until now. Thanks, OP. It was worth checking again after a while.

  • Received offer in Sept so not targeted this round which is understandable!

  • Thanks OP.

  • I havent received a so called "goodie" from NAB since I opened my card in 2023.

  • what cards are people buying and where are they spending it mostly ?

i bought the woolies special gift card one last time, but when i tried to use it.. it's declined but i can see the balance is still available online ?

Am i suppose to choose Credit or Savings at the Eftpos Terminal ?

    • +1

Add it to you wallet and tap like any other normal debit/credit card.

  • Finally got this offer after missing out on previous ones.

Bought a $100 GC on the 13th. Now the offer has disappeared, the total Cashback amount shown has not changed, and on my account I found a $10 credit transaction.

$10, not $20. What the heck? Are they paying out in fortnightly installments?

    • I've used the offer too, and can't see it any longer in the app. Previously, NAB Goodies offers would stay visible in the app until expiry. No credit received here yet.

  • When should I expect the cashback? Bought the GC yesterday

  • -1

No cashback received since purchasing a gift card ! Is this NAB Goodies a scam??
