easily worth that and more… Great game.

Good game. Devs constantly pissing off its player base with ridiculous balancing issues that make the game not fun.

Game runs like horse sh*t on Pc too

    • Great game.

I don't have nearly as many issues as others are having but one of the best purchases ever.

  • Any way to get a pc copy at close to this price point? Most legit cdkeys are 50+

Don't get it on pc if you have a console.

It's running on a discontinued game engine, devs kept adding features that break the game every update. I've probably lost about 30-40% of my fps since launch. Check all the complaints from pc users on reddit.

But if on console, you have to pay for multiplayer every month, so I’d rather just get the PC version if it means I don’t have to pay to play online.

        • Just pray your issues on pc aren't as extreme as alot of gamers. Even people with 4090s are running at 60fps

I'd rather pay every month to play the game with no issues rather than experience drops to 5 fps and constant crashing lol

As much as it does suck that ps caved and followed ms lead and started charging for online, with (new games) being cheaper on console (yeah I know you can get all your busted arse 5 year old games for $4.99 on steam sales, they do that on PSN sales too), the consoles themselves costing about half the cost of even the most basic "gaming" PC and no hackers in online gaming, console is the superior platform for most people to play on, unless you are a super sweat and need 240fps.

I have the XSX version and it's remained at 23GB vs. 140GB+ on PC

Plus I get the LFC VRR too.

Checking for complaints on reddit is like checking for water in the ocean.

      • I have been hanging out for a special for PC on this game and there hasnt really been a good one. I was going to just get it anyway last steam sale but read the reviews and seems like its a mess on PC. Is there any hope at all it will be fixed or given any love?

Ceo mentioned a while ago they'd rather work on content as optimisation takes alot of time and effort. But then last few patches have complete borked people's game. Stuttering to single digit fps, audio engine causing crashes and ear rape.

Last time everyone complained about balancing issues and other nagging issues, the devs announced a "60 day plan" where they just shut up and hammer down issues for the next 2 months. No new content, just working 110% on fixes. This hasn't been announced for the performance issues on pc. Current focus is the bloat of the game on pc (130gb vs 25-35gb on consoles)

The devs do listen but most of the time they appear to be misguided and release shit people don't really want/asked for.

          • @krisspy: To be fair I saw a post a week or two about it on Steam.

Basically the difference is game size between consoles and PCs is because with PCs they have to account for people using a HDD, whereas all consoles have SSDs.

To bring load times down for PC players with HDDs, they have copies of assets stored in several places - hence the larger size. Its literally the same files over and over again in different configurations.

If they didn't do this their match load times would be many minutes rather than 20-30 seconds. The game loads in based on the speed of the slowest player, so if you were in a lobby with a random with an HDD everyone would just be sitting there for minutes without warning.

They don't have a good idea of what percent of the player base still have a HDD, but I think they estimated about 10 percent or so based on Steam surveys.

  • Great game but I lost steam around ~100hours at some point last year. If you haven't played it yet/have a couple mates who haven't either, definitely worth picking up - it's purely PvE (unless they've made major changes), though.. there is team damage :P.

I imagine most people who'd consider this, though, have already played it/are already playing it, or are riding the hype-train of BF6.

    • yeah I was playing it a ton leading up to BF6….

      "Helpful tip: Friendly fire isn't"

Our group tends to run at slightly lower difficulty than we could handle just to allow for stealth hellbomb backpack drops or the occasional 'accidental' nudge off a ledge

    • I lost steam after 6 hours, just didn't quite scratch the itch once the initial fun of novelty and talking shit in group chat wore off… Battlefield 6 on the other hand, wow, what a ride, I cannot get enough

      • Is it the same experience as the beta but more? Or is it a much bigger game than that?

        • Similar but more. Some stuff in beta was pre unlocked now you've gotta rank up for stuff like C4 etc. Also bigger maps and different modes now available too. The cheesing spot mechanic and a lot of terrain glitches have been fixed. It's great so far! Pure chaos.

Support is still OP. Insta revive an entire squad or half a team is broken imo. Needs a tiny charge up or cool down or something. Just to ever so slightly slow it.

        • Just the map maker alone seems like it'll give it longevity, I just played an hour of an air only, 0% weapons damage server where everyone was using helis to roadkill the enemy's soldiers as they ran to try and get in their own heli. If one of the enemy helis caught on fire or started to smoke from the inevitable air bingles and bumper scrapes from slamming into the ground, you could ram them to get a kill, provided you had enough health to sacrifice slamming into them. Then friendly helis could body block enemy helis from splattering their pilots.

That wasn't even the point of the server, it was just a generic air practice mode setup, but it turned into the most hilarious and entertaining situation where everyone joined in. I think in future when the map maker gets the full feature set, like terrain sculpting from scratch, the possibilities will be amazing. At the very least we'll get some fresh conquest maps

Great game. My friends and I aren't big social gamers, but we've been coming back to this over and over since launch. Though the devs do seem to enjoy doing large content drops that barely function, in between 'balancing' patches that seem determined to suck all the fun out of the game. But despite their best efforts, it's still a great game at its core.

300+ hours in. Fun game and great value even at full price.

  • Do I need PS plus to be able to play this game?

  • +1

How is this game today with playing with randoms?

Doubt any of my friends would get into it and due to parenting constraints will likely play on my own most of the time

You can very easily join lobbies with 3 other people.

Generally speaking people are helpful and have the same goals as you :)
