Be careful. I signed up 5 weeks ago with their $250 offer and it didn’t track. Dispute raised and it’s stuck in the process of waiting to hear back from the retailer. I signed up via their app which you would have thought was the most reliable way.

I also used shopback and Cashrewards for compare the market in the past but never had tracking issues

It's never tracked for me but I've always been paid after raising a dispute.

    • Ive done a few of them now and usually its tracked. This time around it didn't. I wasnt sure if it was because someone called me and tried to sell via the phone, and something messed up in the process. Dispute raised and I had it registered, now just still pending confirmation.

      • Same happened to me as someone called while I was finalising the app online

There is a note about this in the terms and conditions on TopCashback. If you get a call from Compare the Market before completing the purchase, don't pick up or else the session will continue on the call (ie: it will then only track if you complete the purchase over the phone).

So best to not answer any call until you finish the purchase. TopCashback usually would still pay out though when raising a dispute.

          • @zt7891: Crazy that their solution to a provider obviously trying to sneak in and steal a commission off them is to palm it off onto customer and say "don't answer your phone" rather than it being a breaking of their T&C's on Compare the Markets end - shows how much they must make that they ignore such blatant stuff.

          • @zt7891: Yeah something in my brain didnt register that they'd still be calling around 6-7PM. Luckily I did read before you can't double dip the offer Compare The Market provides with TopCashback and your cashback become void, so I did have to tell the guy I wasn't going to apply with him. $100 upfront vs $200/$250 cashback

    • Tracked for me within 10 mins.

  • Could you double dip with free 6/8 weeks promos?

    • Depends on what offers compare the market has. Will usually be different to the ones on the PHI site.

    • Look where it says special offer. You should be able to.

    • I have done this, I think with BUPA.

  • If you're churning providers, is it better to go for the per week/month payment or annual?

    • +2

      weekly

  • Does this allow you to double dip on the Bupa offer?

  • Tracked at $200 for me this afternoon, despite signing up to both hospital and extras. Raised a ticket so hopefully they will remediate it asap.

    • Same! Annoying

    • Fixed by TA who reached out soon after I posted this comment. What a legend.

      • Same! @tightarse has kindly fixed this for me too! Made my day 😄

  • Prices for cover were more than the respective websites are showing

Don't forget Compare the Market don't actually compare the entire market. Only those who pay them a commission.

  • How often can you switch health insurance? Waiting periods for certain categories must be a deterrent?

    • +1

Waiting periods carry over to your new insurance provider as long as you're also covered by the new one (and assuming no changes to your gap fee).

  • Can I add LHC (lifetime loading ) when switching insurance through compare the market ?

As otherwise always have to call provider as website does not shows option to add LHC

    • Gets reported with transfer certificate

      • Thanks

      • @easternculture Just checking in….found anything better than the Bupa offer EC? I'm departing Medibank tomorrow…

        • Nah. All current offers are crap.

  • I have done this twice so far this year. Tempted to try a third time, thanks for posting :-)

  • Any expiry on this offer? Couldn’t see in the TCs

Can someone tell me who has the best (cheapest) policy to avoid the Medicare levi?

  • -2

What’s the most cost-effective insurance policy to purchase and later cancel to get cashback with minimal financial loss?

  • applied through them. cashbask already confirmed and been withdrawed.

  • Anyone knows if you can set a start date about a month from now? My current policy is paid up to mid November.

    • I don't think you can set a future date when joining from memory, it may vary depending on the health insurance provider though.

Most, if not all health insurance providers typically would refund the remaining amount on the policy when switching/cancelling so perhaps it's better to check with your current provider on the refund process.

  • I find it tracks when using Firefox for my cashbacks and turning all the tracking protection off with no plugins. I don't use the browser for anything other than cashbacks but this CTM offer tracked fine yesterday for me.

Keep in mind CTM hound you via phone minutes after entering your info so make sure you block their calls and complete it online to avoid missing out on the cashback + insurance specific offers.

    • Interestingly, when I asked about this on the phone they told me the cashback is tied to the quote, and if they complete the sign up via a call they can give me a further 10% off.
