I’ve been looking on and off for a new monitor that will be suitable for my Mac Mini M4. I would like it to be suitable for a PS5 and also have USB-C connectivity for my MacBook Air. My work primarily includes design and photo editing.
The one I’m leaning towards most is the Dell Ultrasharp U2725QE but I thought I’d ask the Ozbargain fam for some recommendations before I pull the trigger!
I gave myself a budget of $500-1000.
ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM 4k OLED (you will absolutely enjoy this monitor) or split the Budget get an ASUS ProArt and any 1440p =/>120hz monitor
I'm in a similar boat, but just wanting a montior for a Mac Mini M4.
What I can tell you is whilst the U2725QE looks like a great choice it has two issues:
I had the 2K version of this and had to return it, and the stand is identical on both. I didn't notice any coil whine on mine but they are well known on the 4K variant. If you're using a monitor arm or a 3rd party stand, then the wobble won't be an issue.
I've looked at the Benq EX271U which is 27" 4K 165hz and has KVM function so you should be able to use your devices connected to the monitor via a single USB-C cable. 65W PD so should charge the Air no problem.
27" is far too small for immersive gaming. It's not even ideal for productivity work.
32" would be the sweet spot for both if you must have a monitor.
