  • This is a very cool and addictive game on Xbox. At that price they must have put some real work into translating it to tabletop. Has anyone tried it?

    • It's supposed to be very very good. An expansion is expected in the near future via crowdfunding.

Some people have said if you are going to be playing solo only then maybe you'd be better off just playing the game on PC/console.

    • Yup, we own the board game and it's good. Highly recommend it.

    • We tried it, but it has the most convoluted pre-setup of any board game I have seen. You need to manually go through every card type and organise them into the box when you open it, as they are not pre-organised when you get them.

I understand this saves on manufacturing cost. But for the price point of this game, I was expecting a little more ease.

I also wouldn't recommend this if you haven't played the video game. I had not, as this was a decently recommended board game. But we found the terms quite difficult to understand and there seemed to be some general understanding that you had played the game prior.

      • I don't have the game so take this with a grain of salt. As I understand it you need to sleeve the cards as some of them need to be upgraded as part of the game. When you upgrade you flip the card over. There are quite a few games where this is the case. I don't know how you ever do this practically or economically prior to you getting the game.

        • I don't have an issue with that; it was that you get the cards delivered in a singular large stack of each card size.

You then need to go through each card, flip it over to the content (without looking at the card details), find the ID of the card, and then move that into separate organised stacks based on locations/regions/item types, usually in a specific order.

There is a huge amount of cards in the game, and the organised stacks include many different physical card sizes.

I understand it's probably a manufacturing nightmare to get around, hence why they did that. But I am just warning anyone who is not used to this level of complex setup.

  • $119.99 @ gametraders Garden City QLD

    I can see 3 copies.

    • Insane deal - snatch one up before they're gone!

      • I'm actually kinda waiting for it to be cheaper at EBGames. Reason is I'll probably go the crowdfunding route and get the All-In pledge or something like that.
