Hey purchased your beans from the last deal, I'm new to espresso and like that you have the ratios and times on the bag for dialling it in. When it says something like 20 in 20 out, 18 seconds:

    1. When do you start the timer? When the first drop of espresso hits the cup? And when do you end the timer? When you switch the machine off?
    2. With my machine, there's a lot of extra coffee dropping into the cup after I switch it off when it reaches 20 grams. Does this affect the final result? Should I move away the cup instantly or just turn the machine off when it reaches 20 grams?
    • With my machine, there's a lot of extra coffee dropping into the cup after I switch it off when it reaches 20 grams.

Do you have a machine without a 3-way (or pressure relief) valve?

It's not the end of the world, but it will change the taste a bit. There are three stages of espresso, so you could try removing the cup and letting the rest go into the drip tray.

Morning @SteveJobs thank you so much for placing your first terrific order with us recently, it's truly appreciated and something I promise we don't take for granted!

Terrific questions and I'm very glad you've reached out to check :)

      1) Please start the timer as soon as you hit the button and the pump engages, rather than when the first drop hits your cup. You bring up a very great query about when to end, it isn't something I've thought to explain (sometimes I'm so immersed in the wonderful worth of coffee I can have a wood for the trees explanation glitch), but I do see value in explaining it. Ideally you'll take note of the progressive flow rate and predictively stop the pump. Of course the exact flow rate depends on a number of factors, but you'll likely need to be around 16 grams extracted by 18 seconds to hit the 20 mark based on residual flow from the portafilter. If you're using a bottomless/naked portafilter then when you stop the pump will be basically on the mark of when the flow stops as there's no reservoir for residual drops

      2) As per my response to 1. Please keep your cup there until all drops have fallen, with the goal being 20g (for milk based coffees) when the last residual drop hits your cup

Any more questions please do shout out!

Hi OP - I ordered previously but could not remember what I ordered! Which one is the least acidic please?

    • Get the Brazil - trust me!! =)

      • Thanks!

  • Picked up 1 kg of the single origin to try it out. I was actually going to buy 2 kg but it didn’t hit the free shipping threshold, so I just went with one. Sharing that in case it’s useful feedback, small tweak like a lower threshold would probably get people like me to buy more.

    • Yeah it is a bit of a pain that. 3 bags ends up being almost $100 now with the price rises. It’s absolutely such good coffee, I always am dying for the Brazil beans deal, but now coffee prices gone up (not your fault Tom you did warn us and try you best), cost of living bites are hitting which is probably why this deal isn’t more +. :/

      But
      Amazing customer service
      And amazing product
      Highly rate!!
But I’m going to have to order less of these :’(

    • Hey @yn3qkz5h thank you so much for your order, it's truly appreciated!!!

It means a lot and isn't taken for granted that you've take the time to provide feedback. If we could lower our free shipping threshold we would, but it's just too financially risky to lower it any further. You are correct that 2kg packed into 1kg bags doesn't get you over the free shipping line. However, you could have gotten free shipping for 2kg of coffee if you'd ordered via "1x1kg + 2x500g" :)
