I have a Zodiac FX18 (Paid $1100 for it in 2023) that has given up the ghost, turns out it just needs a new pump motor (small part, rest of cleaner is immaculate). Do you think you can buy a new pump motor? (maximum cost of part <$50). Very clever business model (well done Zodiac / Fluidra). So here we are buying a new pool cleaner.
I noticed very small ingress of salt water from pool in seal at entry of motor shaft. Rinsing with fresh water may have saved it, note to self. It lasted 3 years which isn't great, pity about the spare part situation.

This is the best deal for one of these, and they are cordless. APP15 gives you 15% off to make it $670.65 in total.

The word POOL missing from the title?
    ..or is it just me?

Negging because I've clicked 9 times on this thread for something that I never was interested in because of the poor title.

Next time start the description with "Dear Diary"

    • Aww, thanks for taking the time to read, very sweet

      • I have a zodiac pool cleaner too (two actually), so I was intrigued by your story. One zodiac was given to be by my wife's friend (she said it was broken, but I fixed it- water had gotten into the PBC causing some corrosion and I just used some flux and a heat gun). The other Zodiac I got from Kerbside collection- working perfectly.

        • I don't think they're bad products, I am impressed with how well the fx18 cleans the pool (&it's the smallest cleaner in the range). If looked after I rekon it could last 5 years even 7 maybe, but a pity only the motor chassis replacement can be bought at $699 :-( The other internals are perfect and look like new

  • How do these filter fine sediments without clogging. Design doesnt make sense to me in a pool (that has algae…which is very fine).

Sand filter / DE filter makes sense…thats about it.

    • They do pick up fine particles like sand and dust that settles at the bottom of the pool, the mesh filters are quite effective (150um). They are pumping water through the mesh so it can't be too fine or the pump will struggle to push water through it. Algae will be handled by the pool chemistry (chlorine etc). These are great at picking up leaves and other debris too

  • Do they sell these in Zima Blue?

  • Just get a dolphin and get on with life. Why buy another piss poor product if the first one only lasted 3 years?

    • Which dolphin would you recommend?
I heard Aiper is a better choice?

  • Off-topic, but has anyone used the Wybot C1 or C2?
