Yeah fair enough. I'm not really into the whole keeping sealed boxes of things, collectable or not. Especially if electronics, I'd rather just use the thing!
So a second one is probably a waste for me. Question is whether I cancel JB and wait for a refund and order Zon or just keep JB.
@ReaperX22: My last refund from JB using gift card only took 1 day. But I would just order from Amazon now and cancel from JB later.
@ce5himm: I just ordered it from Amazon after I ordered from JB this morning. Can you cancel online/through live chat? - or should I wait till the Amazon one is confirmed? I got a friend to order through JB so it might be a PITA to return, rather than cancel now.

@ReaperX22: I ordered 2 when they were first put up for pre order (more of a safety thing wasn't sure the eb order went through so I ordered a second one elsewhere).
I only just opened one of the boxes and started using the controller weeks ago (was sick of the two controller's I was alternating between going flat, now I always have one ready while the other two are on charge).
I have form in not using collectable controllers. My 20th anniversary ps4 controller is still unopened!

Yes, JB is sold out. Eb has that plus membership paywall, Amazon seems only sell the dualsense and at a better price.
I wouldn't mind to join that EB plus membership to get my hands on another 30th anniversary controller but I am worried about after I joined then find out it all presold.
@ce5himm: I'll see if JB will have more stock close to release as some people are cancelling their orders after jumping on Amazon's cheaper price. Amazon might have some for order on launch day as well like with the OG Astro Bot controller. The 30th anniversary one is more sought-after however.

If you have stick drift, replace the joysticks or ask a friend with soldering skills to do so.
It's about $25-$30 for a pair of TMR sticks with adjustable tension and 3 different stick cap lengths (Gulikit, AliExpress) that will never drift.
Hall effect sticks also won't develop drift and are usually even cheaper.
I purchased a set of replacement potentiometer modules from The Gamesmen on eBay in 2022 for $9. An hour of soldering and the controller was fixed. $100 for a repairable part is crazy.
There are also mail-in services that'll do it for you for a fair price if you can't solder or don't know anyone that does. Either way, better than buying a new one that'll end up failing again.
I paid USD $1.60 for a pair of hall effect joysticks courtesy of an AliExpress bundle deal a couple of months ago.

On the stick drift front (and by no means a panacea for all), this surprisingly has worked for me multiple times.
From Reddit:
Gently, just hard enough to have the l3 or r3 button click, press down in the analog stick with your palm. While constantly applying that gentle pressure move the stick in a clockwise motion for a minute or so, then the same in the counter clockwise. Then apply just a little more pressure, not much more just a little, and repeat. Many times this will fix stick drift that is caused by some kind of debris in the sticks.
If that doesn't work, i followed this guide and worked like a charm.

I'm personally waiting til these are $65-67 again on The Gamesmen eBay store like back in June. If they follow last year's pattern like they have so far, it'll be around that price again in November with Black Friday on the horizon.

How to Identify PS5 DualSense Controller Version. Scan the QR code on the controller and check the second digit is the easiest method I reckon.

I brought a cosmic red for $63 off amazon back in July 2022
The drift isn't even the problem with mine, it's that the battery literally dies in 5 mins and it has to be kept plugged in to use.
Here's a guide on how to replace it, should take under 30 mins.
Here's a battery for $15 delivered by November 5th, plenty of other options as well. This one has a lot of positive reviews.

Got a few of these when they were down to $67 through JB. Also fun fact ive been able to swap about 4 of my older ones with stick drift for new ones within 12 months without question over the years, JB has always been happy to exchange them with new ones.
